The point indicated in the wire install sticky is your best bet. Do you have any flux/rosin that you can apply to aid in the soldering? It makes a big difference. Don't know if you've got anyone local to you that sells them, but the flux pens produced by Techspray/Trace Technologies have been recommended here, I think by Catalyst.

From looking at the image in the sticky it appears that the trace from the #8 point then connects to the 3rd leg in on the chip above it. While I wouldn't recommend this point over the original, if the #8 point has no chance of taking a connection that leg could probably be used in a pinch. Be very careful that you don't bridge to either of the legs next to it, and confirm first that the trace does in fact run there.
