anyone run into the same problem?
I tried the RF remote mod on an xbox w/ X3
see
http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/rf-power.php

basically, when i use the door bell remote to turn on the xbox it turns on in disabled mode.
This is because the door chime holds down the power button longer than 1 second. If it did this faster I think the xbox would turn on w/ the X3 enabled as this is how the X3 is designed.

anyone have any ideas how i could easily fix this?
thx

haha i had the same problem i just switched the cables that go the the eject board the the x3 so now when u hold in the eject button the mod is disabled and the doorbell boots with the modchip on. Though this might be bad for when the x3ir comes out.

ok i dont kno how to explain this right but the two red wires i just cut them and switched them so now if i want to boot with the x3 disabled i hold the eject button in becuz the door chime sent a long singal that i dont kno how to change so the x3 was always booting off if i turned on my xbox remotely. I was saying that i guess the x3IR is going to plug into the soldierless power/eject board and since i changed the wires when i use the dvd remote some of my buttons are going to be backwards unless they are programable. my example what make sence to me might be wrong but if diplay was boot x3 on then for me it would turn on x3 off.

er, dude, the enable/disable is done by the X3, not the reset/eject board, that just lets the X3 tap into the power/eject buttons. The code in the X3 chip is what looks for a long or short press of the button (as far as I know)

I think it was just a fluke swapping those wires did anything.

Does anyone know if the Reset/Eject Adapter is required for the X3?
If not I could just disconnect it which would solve my problem.

Yes, it is the X3 that knows what you are pushing in order for it to be disabled/enabled. But the power/eject board tells the X3 which button you are pushing. So switching those wires did effect how the X3 booted.

No, the power/eject board is not required.

Thanks for the clarification threeballspin

Another question though
Since it's not required, if I leave out (disconnect) the power/eject board will the X3 always be enabled when I turn on the xbox? I would try it but don't have access to my xbox right now.

you could disconnect it but then you cant get the X3IR i think plus you can get into flash bios or boot with the x3 off

Disconnected the power/eject board solved my problem. Thanks all.

Yeah...i considered getting that XIR remote mod but I don't particulary use the DVD remote and that's just one more remote to clutter the coffee table.
I now just have a small door bell chime instead.

I may change my mind in the future who knows.

that looks like a cool mod! abyone else have this working successfully? it doesn't look too hard to set up.
it's easy to do, but it doesn't work. I still haven't been able to shorten the pulse on mine either so it only starts up disabled
