Console Type: Falcon

NAND size: 16mb

Dashboard version: e.g 2.0.16537

CB version: e.g 5774

Image of R-JTAG board:

Images of close-up soldering to motherboard:

Was the console working before you started: Yes this is a glitch chip upgrade

Description of problem:

Hi im back this time my own console, Had the cr3 lite and was unhappy with boot times overall. Installed the R-jtag accordingly to the tutorial as this is just an upgrade to improve glitch boot times. Here are my setting for all the chips from the starter pack:

JTAG v2 board - 470ohm jumper set, 2 way switch is on, three way switch set to the centre, points 1 and 2 bridged

R-jtag glitch chip - Dip 7 on and dip 8 off, Dip 5 on only no combo, 1.2v connection bridged (see pics)

cpu_rst - from point D to side of R8C2

Before testing I erased the nand image off the Demon and just wrote the stock nand to it so that when i boots i know it will go to xbox dash also the old rgh2 files were on the demon nand and wouldn't work with new setup. However my problem is the console glitches and in most cases only takes 5 glitches to work, but as soon as it completes the glitches it goes to a RROD with Code 0022 which is GPU Error / GPU Overheating . Strangely enough id you turn dip 5 off and just have dip 7 running the RROD is 0010. So why would my console not boot and just give RROD? On the demon i de soldered the sync wire so i could get error codes and the orange wire is still soldered to the demon so cant do the rater test until i do. Also it stated the nand R/W cables must be connected to the J programmer in order to shutdown console, i did a wire install so do i need to re install my nand -x wires direct to do this or is their another way.

Thanks for all your support.

Have you tried every dip and voltage combo ?
No fella just the default ones mentioned in the tutorial. Will try dips 1,2,3 and 4 with the 1.2v bridged, but apart from this one were are the other voltage combos and will i have to unbridge the 1.2v in order to try others or keep it bridged? If after trying all these and still get problem what would be next? Its strange the RROD errors are relating to overheating issues, the console is cold and the fans blow on them hard.

This should clear the RROD? ok well ill try your suggestion first if not ill try the below i found in the tutorial:

FALCON: 1 or other of these should yield perfect results:

1. DIPS 4, 7 = ON - 1.2v JUMPER ON - JTAG AUD_CLAMP OPTION - 470 JUMPER
2. DIPS 5, 7 = ON - NO VOLTAGE JUMPER - JTAG AUD_CLAMP OPTION - 470 JUMPER
2. DIPS 3, 7 = ON - NO VOLTAGE JUMPER - JTAG STANDARD OPTION - 470 JUMPER

Will have to install AUD_clamp and leave stock nand on the demon? or create a new glitch nand image with R-jtag and AUD_Clamp selected? As my next problem would be if the settings are correct but their is an issue booting the image it will RROD again because it cant read the nand.

Thanks

Ok just an update, tried what you said and got RROD on all dips, so tried this first option:

DIPS 4, 7 = ON - 1.2v JUMPER ON - JTAG AUD_CLAMP OPTION - 470 JUMPER

And to my amazement without any odd,hdd etc it glitched on 4 attempts with 6 cycles each time. So to do the proper test i hooked everything back up and re tested. Test 1 glitched in 4 cycles! but every time after I was hitting 48 cycles and no glitch so nudged them. Turned off and tried having dip 5 on instead and first test in glitched in 16 cycles. What settings or voltages should you suggest i do? it looks like the AUD clamp option makes it boot without RROD so ideally would like to keep that on.

Thanks

View attachment My Post output phat jasper.txt

Above in attachment is the rater results from 10 attempts, with the following settings:

1.2v bridged

dip 7 and 5 on only

AUD_clamp on 1 and 3 bridged

470ohm set.

The AUD option seems to stop the RROD so ideally would like to keep it on, all components connected during test, odd, hdd, fans video lead. Demon installed.

How can i make the results better?

Thanks

My Rater Screenshot 2.png

Did rater tests and got awesome most boots were within 1 to 2 cycles, its the only setting that works without RROD but happy with over all boot times much more improved than the cr3 lite that took nearly 5 mins!! here is the screen shot. Got a new problem though which ill write a new thread for tested the console before putting it back into its case and all was fine. Put it back together with a tight squeeze as the motherboard no longer sits flush in the case with the chips installed underneath, it RROD on both normal and glitch.
