I have to unplug the switch for the xbox to boot to the flashBIOS. and when it boots to the flashBIOS, its flash disabled no matter what the position of the flash enable switch.

I have modded 10 xboxes in the past and never had anything like this.
any help would be appreciated, I'm stumped.

if doesn't eject then your drive is bricked......

Use the onboard SATA ports on you PC (preferably primary port).
exact opposite, hitachi are very delicate creatures and only like certain sata ports. Go buy a via6421A card.

also is it a 79. It may require activate disc if it is not already flashed with a firmware.

lol no its not.

The Hitachis have to be flashed actively on a desktop application, the PC has to deal with it as if it is a normal PC (CD-ROM) drive during this process, reason why is beyond my understanding. Hence why using the onboard SATA connections solve 90% of peoples problems when they cannot get their Hitachi recognised on desktop.

Re: Hitachi's wont Flash now???

I have done alot of hitachis and most of them do not even get recongized on my evga mobo and some of my m8 have the same issue. That is why I am saying that Farly. No need to get defensive.

I wasn't being defensive. I was just saying that Hitachi drives should be flashed using the onboard SATA ports. I'm not sure if mobo compatibility should come into it considering it has to flashed/treated similar to a PC DVD-Drive.

Re: Hitachi's wont Flash now???

If you are using via and have the drivers removed you drive will not show up in the drive drop down box on the top right it will only show up under drive properties right below were you select your i/o port and you can only using portio mode not winapi because their are no drivers
