all I did was enter turn+on+plug into the search window and there it was.

I just wanted to post my update. I have it working again. This is what I did to stop the auto start and no shutoff problem. First, I took the power/eject PCB off. I cleaned the back with Acetone. Under magnifying glass, I used an Xacto knife to scrape off a couple of questionable solder joints. I thought they might be bridged but I wasn’t getting any continuity. I didn’t think that was the problem and it wasn’t. I was still getting the auto start and it wouldn’t shut off anymore unless I pulled the plug.
Next, I removed the board and check continuity for all solder joints. Everything checked out but it still didn’t work. I took out the soldering iron and resoldered every point. I made sure D0 was covered real good. I also checked continuity again.
Finally, I removed every lead from the X3 chip and looked at the inside with a magnifying glass and blew compressed air in each socket. I did notice that the connector on the X3 that runs to the Pro Switch had a pin that was pressing against the other. It has really tiny pins and you can easily smash them when you put that connector on. I had to get a jewelers screwdriver and straighten out the pin and carefully reinserted the lead. I put electrical tape on the bottom of the board to cover the rebuild and solder joints and put a little tape on the top of the chip to cover the exposed pins. I also put a little piece of tape over the alternate 5v connector on the X3 chip.
It worked. I went to bed at 2:00 A.M. and so far so good. What is puzzling is that everything was fine for over a month since I installed it. The xbox was rock solid in an entertainment center and it is never moved. I am pretty good at soldering and I also have made PCB’s for other projects. It must be gremlins. All I can say for DarkSkies is that, if your problem was like mine, you must have a short somewhere. My only advices is being methodical and try everything.
