I have a 1.6 box, no power if chip on pinheader. Take chip off of pinheader and boots normally.

with a 1.6 you have to install the 5v wire that is probably your problem, and you have to rebuild the bottom lpc witht the rebuild pcb

If it wont turn on, you might have a short on the solder points where you installed the chip. Try it again and make sure you dont create a short, (This is only a possibility, I'm not saying that this is what is wrong.)

Cos when I installed my cathode, there was a short and this is why it wouldn't turn on.

Hope this helps.

Sorry tasemach, but im not a noob, i've done mods before and all cables are connected. Oh and you don't need the PCB rebuild, i soldered the points the old fashioned style. With Wire

Oh um ok, so you didn't see that i had a xenium and a 1.6 Crystal already. Sorry if im coming off a bit agitated but if you want to post then post something of relevance to the problem. "Look at the tutorials mate!" what the hell is this? Im tired of people flamming over legit question when people asking for help should be flamming for answers like this! If your going to tell me to look at the tutorials, then post a link to the tutorial for this situation!

Dude your the only one of the three that actually did what your supposed to do on a forum such as this. You gave me a reason and a possible solution to the situation.

OK. If the D0 shorted then would that stop power from traveling to the chip? My pinheaders are dead on with the solder because i've had it running for the past 2 months.
Oh and how can you determine whether or not theres a short?

The last thing i can add, when the d0,hdd,lan wire is plugged in i get the blue led on the chip to flash for a sec then off. NO POWER TO THE BOARD.

Again Thank you for the Help and i will look at my connections again.

When mine had a short it turned on for a split second and then went off. Yeah just check your connections and I hope it works out for you.

Well i hope thats it but the system has been working for the past 2 months, i was playing around and the only wire that might need resolding is the d0, but i can't see that stoping the whole system from getting power. Im pretty sure my chip is dead now.

Listen, I appologize for the comments i made, but please understand that open ended comments get me no where and was hoping that someone could just throw a theory my way. Again im sorry for jumping at you guys here. Your doing a great job and i see that, i was just pissed off that i may of fried my chip. I found out what the problem was and i think i bent my dipswitch reciever pin on the chip. DAMN! and its too small for my eyes to see them. Sorry again.

Error 71 after Jtag falcon

I just finished Jtaging a Falcon Console.. I got a Read error on 0FD. I when on with the Flash of Freeboot and dash starts to boot (Xbox Logo) then cuts out to E71. If I flash back to normal works fine, I also tried to update Official 7371 and then Flash same error? Could this be the Wiring? I lost now first time with this Error

Re: Error 71 after Jtag falcon

you need to use the bad block remapper program and remap xbr3 then upgrade xbox to xbr3.
then build your freeboot image, name it updflash.bin then use flash360 on the xbox console and update using the updflash.bin.
