LITEON DG-16D2S won't read any Disc with new Laser

Hi Guys,
i have dg-16d2s drive which don't read any disc at all. First i tried to tweak the laser pot. Reduced resistance to 3 Ohm. Nothing.
Ordered a new laser, build it in -> Same Problem. Temporarly replaced the pcb by another d2s drive -> The same.
When no DVD is in, the Motor starts, when a dvd is in, its just start short, nothing else. I also reduced the resistance of new laser. Currently it's set to about 4 Ohm.
Tried OFW and CFW . Xbox shows open Tray Error.

You removed the antistatic point on the laser yes?

Have you tried "fixing" the rubber band at the front of the drive?

Take it out and put it in a cup of hot/boiling water for a few minutes and then re-fit it.

Does the issue still remain?

You mean the small belt to open tray?
I replaced it with a strong rubber band -> The same

It's possible that the motor is either dead or on it's way out (more likely to be the latter if it is spinning up for a second and then stopping).

If you take the lid off and eject and close it does the laser move back and forth?
I also take it you havent modified this drive? (flashed it)

@Teajunkie I will create a Vid, the laser moves. Yes drive is flashed at the moment, i also tried with stock fw with the same result .

Is the key correct?

Try a dvd see if that plays if it does most likely the key is wrong or hasnt been copied right.

Personally I would flash it back to stock and plug it into my computer to see if its recognized and if it reads and discs. If it does then i would try it in the xbox and try a dvd film. From what I saw the only things you haven't replaced is the board and the laser flexible cable. Maybe it's one of those two.

Meanwhile i tested several things. I think the new laser is dead too. I will order another one. I will let you know.

I think the PCB may be dead.

I have a Lite-On here with a very similar issue and I have replaced the laser, the motor and even tried "fixing" the rubber band but to no avail .

hmm this is really strange. PCB was swapped with no effect. I ordered a new laser but it will take about one week. Is it possible that the distance between the laser lens and DVD is to big or small? I know that the laserlens is able to move in a limited range via the coils to focus. But i also see that there some adjustment screws for the laser axes.

New Laser arrived....... The other -new- Laser was defective! Everything is working now. Thanks for your help!

Hi Guys,

I dont know if this is the right forum for this question but here it is: I tried to flash a liteon DG-16D2S (74850C) phat. I used x360usb pro 2 and i have the ck3 probe. So I used jungleflasher and everything and probe the point. I read the whole guide but I think i messed something up because when I turned my xbox on the light keeps flashing green and its saying opening and closing when i have the xbox on. Can this be fixed or am I screwed. Please help Thanks. Also is there a way to undo a bad flash if this is it
