Well a reality check would be in order.

The coounter of simultaneus users is not directly describing simultaneus users.

It just counts how many users had visited on the site between a specific time intervals.
That time interval could be set by setting how long a cookie is active on the server.

The cookie could be active on some forums like one hour or several days, which after it is removed from server log. Depending on settings on the site.

Examples.
If visiters per hour would be 100

A. Visit is logged for one hour.
Simultaneus user count = 1 * 100 => 100

B Visit is logged 1 day.
Simultaneus user count = 24h * 100 visits/hour => 2400

Well if you think about it. Is it day or night the visitors counter is close to 2000. At night when tested my theory I replied to a thread. Well non of the 2000 users did even read the new modifed thread in couple of hours.

Other way to get the counter hight is aviously to change the counters start number. Well that would be straight deception, so I dont think that is hapening in this case.

Note. Xecuter is a wery old on Xbox Scene with many old Xecuter mod version customers. They do have ppl on the forum that are not necessary interested of the newest mod instead reading older mod threads, as they are old customers with old mod version support requirements. Compared to other new mod seller’s forums, they have only one mod chip to support. Therefore it is avious for Xecuter to have more visitors than other new mod seller’s forums.

So the counter dont directly describe the popularity of different mod developers newest mod.

If somebody dissagries with me I would be happy to get his theory. :)
btw. I do maintain own web server so i do have some knowledge.

Who... cares? :\

my theory:

I have my webpage opened here 24/7. I don't browse ALL forums at once... let alone do I read every forum post.

Your "Blahblah" topic, might not get as many views as a "OMG 1337 the new Bios is 0utzers" Thread. I'm sure half the people on this site... are just browsing for the new bios. Then.. half might be in a diff thread, while half in another.

When you take into consideration how many people here have an executer, In most likelly the hundreds of thousands, if not more... is it hard to believe 3000 people are on at once?

IMO - It'd be useless for xecuter to try to "Trick" people into thinking there are 3000 people browsing... For what... so xenium thinks we have more people then them? ;)

It's also unlikely (Unless he doesnt know what it does... but I doubt it)That he has the cache set to 24 hours... as it's for ACTIVE users... if it said something like visits this day, I would understand that.

In short - Theories are just theories.... who cares about the answer, or why there are so many :) Wait till the new bios is out, see if it's that much.

True
The point beein that it allways has a time interwall that the counter uses to count active users.

That time intervall is usually set by totally by other criteria than "counter visitors" effect.

Time intewall is usually set depending on how often cookien info is reset on server. For example a Online store need to have cookie alive at least the time user does his buying there, so basket dont get reset in during shopping.

The main point is as you mensioned:
The user counter does not say mutch about the X3 mod popularity. There are so many different ppl on the forum for different reasons like bios update etc...

ye, what ever the diffference is. :)

"Fact" is that the counter is not number of users clicking threads links simultaneusly. :)

Well my mother language is not English, so i dont know if it actually is a fact as it is not a proven thing.:)

Well in the long run, non of this even mathers.

Yup...I actualy have my homepage set to www.teamxecuter.com/forums
then if others do too wouldn't that also impact the count just by starting the browser?

I presume you mean the time Interwall I have been talking about?
Well if that is true then I am impressed.
