Wow, figure this one out! Bad chip?

OK here's the story: I bought an xecuter 2.6 for my 1.6b xbox. Wire install and it does nothing but FRAG. So before giving up hope, I decide to buy a new chip HOPING that thats the problem. My new chip arrives, plug it in, no blue light or any activity on the new chip. However, plug in my old chip, blue LEDs work, Switch LEDs work (still FRAGS tho). Does this mean my new chip is bad? Bought it at themodchip.com. I'm stumped again!

does your box work like normal when you disable the chip?
if so, then you've got a weak connection somewhere in your install

go over it again and touch up any points that may need it

Yeah, it works when the chip is disabled. But don't u think its strange that one chip lights up and the other one doesn'?
