Hey guys I have recently did the RGH on a slim console but it does have a mismatched drive not allowing it to read games. I have the consoles DVD key and I am needing to write the key to the drive I have. The drive is a DG-16D4S FW: 0225. The only thing I have really done is extracted the dummy.bin file and a couple others that come with the read. I am a complete noob when it comes to DVD drives as this is not my area of modding. I have looked all over for a tutorial on how to write a DVD key to a new drive (Couldn't find a tut ANYWHERE) even in the jungle flasher PDF guide. I am using a X360 USB pro and the xbox's power source. If anyone knows how to write the key to the drive, could you please help me. Thanks in advance for the replies.

Did you look here its the same as flashing the drive just manually spoof the Dvd key before you write it. And build a freeboot image with nofrct selected

Above he states that it is not possible at the moment? This console is staying as an RGH so there is no worry about the console getting banned. Is there an easy way to type in the key to replace the key that's on the drive now?

Don't worry mistakes happen :). Like I said I am a complete noob when it comes to disk drives. Does anyone have a good tut on replacing the DVD key? Or could explain it to me?

Rebuild the freeboot with nofcrt patch and flash to drive any D4S firmware with correct key.
To spoof key in the firmware you can use my software
Also you can change the key in freeboot image

Like I stated above go through the process like you are just flashing the drive, but before you write the fw back use the manual spoof button in jungle Flasher and type in the key you want the drive to have
Manual Spoof button doesn't work for D4S firmware

Thanks for the info never had to do it on a 4s yet, so in respect it would be easiest to build a image with the key changed in the build then with nofcrt patch? Nice to know info there though.

Yes but it will not possible to build retail image using freeboot image with patched key.
It would be better to flash the drive

Okay I'm pretty sure I made a correct image for the drive now. I loaded the dummy with the wrong key then entered the correct one and spoofed it to the stock d4s firmware I downloaded. I'm wondering how I write this firmware to the drive now? Thanks

Just open it in JungleFlasher as Target (FirmTool32 tab) and write it to the drive (MTKFlash32 tab)

Okay I did that and then went to write. It said "Drive Invalid Status!". I then put the drive in vendor mode? Not sure if I had to do this... Then it says " Spi is locked, Aborting" I am doing something wrong?

It seems the drive is locked (I think it has stock firmware so it won't run copies). See JF tutorial

You can import keys into j runner and make a new image from them? I didn't know you could do this. How do I do this?

I now have another question. I flashed the NAND with the DVD drives DVD key written to it. So the keys match now. When I put in a game the console reads it as a game then boots it. But when the disk starts to spin fast it goes back to the dashboard. Any ideas?
