I tried to HTTP flash X3 with the bios file in the original format without renaming it to BIOS.BIN. It went half way and then it stoped. After that only frag and it says that the flash is read only even that the protect is off. I know it was my mistake, but is there any way to recover?

If you do http flash then you don't need to rename the bios at all.
what switch setting were you on when you flashed?

Unfortunately all four since I have the front panel... :-( And the bios was the latest 5032 for 1.6 xbox. I was under the impression that in HTTP the name doesn't matter. I have another X3 which I flashed succesfuly. Is there recovery.bin or something so I can flash the bad chip from the HD?

Make sure you dip switch settings are correct for 1mb bank. I have a friend mirror what he was looking at and had the switches totally backwards and this was happening to him. Any time I have had a bad flash I was able to reflash it.
I also had an issue like this when my software firewall was up. Make sure you disable it if you have one running.

5032 is an X2 bios which is 512k in size, if your switch settings is 1mb like "on on off off off" or "off on off off off" then the flashing will really stop because of the size mismatch. Try to acces the back-up rom (power + eject button) and re-flash with X3_3294v16plus.bin bios using one of the settings that I included here.
