WTF after 3 weeks i get fragged

I booted to my dashboard which was sitting idle about 5-10 minutes after which she just shut down? I thought WTF? so I hit the button and nothing just blackness on my t.v. and the the lights flashing yellow not all colors just yellow blinking so now I hold the button and WTF??? nothing there either!!! and for te XBOX dash the light flashed red my first though was bad soldering + hot mobo = a solder point that came apart but I still had access to flashbios and got into X3 config live I put in my retail HDD and tried A reboot (mod disabled) but it was still the same I looked inside withA 4X magnifine glass and did not see any broken solder points long story short I think I toasted my MOBO but I would like to know how? and why after 3 weeks of unfalable game play did this just happen out of the blue? I'm going friday to get A new box and start from scratch so any 411 you could give me would be great an incase you want/need to knoe i was running a V1.6 Xbox with X-3 and 1959+V16 bios on a 120GB maxtor drive with slayers installed oncae again any help would be greatly apreciated and thank you for your time

You still were able to get into flash bios?

Uh.. Wouldn't you think if you toasted your motherboard you wouldn't be able to get ANYTHING?

Have you tried to reflash your bios?

not necessarily, but in this case, sounds like something on the hd's amiss

his mobo could have a broken trace somewhere, but if he can still access flashbios and backup, but not boot disabled, you should check the traces near the d0

You might have left a wire exposed and it shorted the mobo OR you had a electrical surge while your xbox was on.

did you insulate the 5v post? if not it could have shorted against something.

O.k from the top yes I was able to get nto flashbios and yes I re-flashed

"Xcronos" said something about the HDD amis Now I don't know what that means but that brings up something I didn't mention before after I had this crash I went to my Xbox HDD via FTP and was going to back up my save games and stuff even thouth I could ftp to the box and could transfer data nothing would happen, I restored my HDD with the files from my computer but when i go back to look inside the folders they were empty

as far as having a broken trace goes how is it possible that after 3 weeks it just stops working?
