OK, I'll make this as simple as possible.

I installed the X3 about a month ago, had a few minor probs with it but got through easiley enough.
Installed 120g hdd and setup evox onto it,

Everything works fine till yesterday, I play online almost everynite and repeat without much change, then I come to turn on last nite and the damn thing doesn't even boot properly, the first tell tale sign was the X3 panel on the front not lighting up, then the whole xbox startup screen (which I turned off on the x3).
I then got error code 5 - I checked this up and it was talking abotu the hdd lock being disabled so I threw my original hdd back in which didn't work either !!
I've double and triple checked the connections inside just to be sure (even though this xbox has never moved since it's isntall) and this baby is still not workign !!

the light on the x3 chip lights up fine and I've checked the wires going to the front panel for any cuts which there are none so this has got my stumped (and really annoyed).

Please help !!

Re: WTF is going on !!

Like is my modchip dead ? I have no way of knowing, I mean there's been no power surges or anything else I would've lost alot of devices linked into the same powerboard, the x3 panel on the front doesn't even light up anymore !

This is killing me !!

look at the x3 chip and see if the lights come on if not then its likely it has fried

did you tape up the alternate 5v adapter (little bent pin that can short it)

lets talk common sense here

the led's light up on the mod - but your external switch isnt working

mmmmm maybe its not plugged in right ????

think ppl think

the mod will work with the switch unplugged anyway you know that right ?

Hey xecuter, found what I believe to be the problem, one of the pins is *slightly* longer then the rest, I raised teh modchip just a little and voila! it all came back to life, I'm thinking it might be what you said about the 5v connection grounding perhaps.

btw - yes the panel was plugged in !! I'm not sure how the chip dipped so low for no reason but I have now corrected it and will be adjusting the troublesome pin that sticks slightly higher then the rest.

Thanks for the help there  , I was freaking thinking I cooked my xbox ! :?

Re: lite on lens replacement

141b are for benq drives. You'll need 14xx for a Liteon.
