X Box Optical Drive won't read backups

I recently had my 1.6b motherboard modded with an alladin advance but it won't play backups. The bios was hacked fine and it plays backed up dvd videos fine, just no games.

Could this be because of my media? The person who did the mod for me said I should try media with darker ink. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Make sure the date/time is correct on your Xbox.

If this still doesn't do it - let me know what DVD media you're using and what DVD-ROM drive you have.

If I do not have the original FW, is it ok to go from 1.61 to LT?

its not a shaft of an answer! it's more accurate to tell you to follow the tut. as it has step by step instructions!
flash as normal!
if the xbox is already fully updated then yes go from 1.61 to LT
the tut is available in the downloads section btw

I downloaded it and I didn't see any mention of if it is ok to go from 1.61 to LT.
I will go ahead with my flash then.

it doesnt need to say it. if you follow it using the links then it wont tell you to flash back to stock. LT for benq acts like stock firmware so it can be flashed again therefore no ofw is really needed. hope that helps.

ok im a noob k, but i flashed my benq 3 days ago and now this dashboard update is comin so wat do i do? i flashed with LT 1.0. please spread some knowledge on my situation.

yes you can go from 1.61 to LT, just use the ripped 1.61 firmware you've read from the drive and use it to put the drive key into LT.
