Hello, i have RROD, does the 2nd code and i have 0102 (GPU fault)

I was just wondering the best turial and if i should use a heat gun instead of waiting for it to overheat.

Also if anyone is here from New Zealand and knows where and what exact screws/washers to get (or sizes will help) that would help alot.

Thanks,
Aaron

Heya there, I too have had error code 0102 and have successfully repaired it using RBJtech's X-Clamp replacement method! It's been going strong, infact, better than before the replacement for about a week or so now! Now I don't think I'm allowed to give any links?!?! However, as the site I am about to link to is not copy righted, and the owner is a fellow modder. Here... Use this method, it's accurate and helpful.

Please don't ban me guys, I'm only trying to help this guy :)

The size screws are stated, and they are Machine Screws don't forget, but just incase... They are 5mm x 20mm (8 of them), and 5mm x 15mm (8 of them). And about 60 5mm washer's. Trust me, it ends up needing alot. You don't actually need 8 screws, but it's better to have them, as I broke a few of them trying to grind them down. But if you can actually find 5mm x 15mm you won't have any problems. I just bought 16 20mm ones and cut 8 of them down

P.S. It says don't use too much thermal paste, that's true, but don't use too little either, I made that mistake and had to take it all apart again. Be careful not to overtighten the screws into the GPU heatsink, I ended up buying a new one due to breaking the threads because I overtightened it :)

after applied power on it will give 3 red lights leave on for 20 mins then power off for 10 minutes. On next bootup 360 should complete its post fine..

I don't see a need to leave it on for 20 minutes... It will come up with 3RLOD first time you put it all back together. For me, it came up about 3 times. On the 4th it worked, now just play on it for about an hour... But on a game, with 3RLOD it's not giving the CPU or GPU much to do, therefore it won't heat up much, causing the Thermal Paste to not dry... So just have a sesh on HALO3 or something.

Personally, I was on HALO3 for 4 hours, and that seemed to dry it quite nicely :)
