X-NAND required for CoolRunner?

I am not a total newbie to the homebrew scene, but basically what happened to me was my JTAG (that I did myself) died (E74 1022), but I can throw together another Xbox (swap out some parts like DVD drive board) and have an Xbox that is ready for RGH, but not JTAG. So, I do know a little about what I am talking about. I am totally new to RGH scene though.

Basically, I do know how to read/write the NAND. That is not my concern, other than I don't have a CoolRunner. I did see that the CoolRunner needs to be hooked up to the NAND-X to program it though. If that is the case that would cause a problem for me.

Is it possible to just program the CoolRunner separately from everything else?

Also I saw that CoolRunner can be programmed with the LPT port, but I did not notice this option in J-Runner. Can I do this?

Thanks a lot

You can program it without the nand x but having one will kill 2 birds with one stone. A nand x will not only program the CPLD (coolrunner) but it will kill also read/write your nand.
