I earlier was having problems with the error 16 coming from my xbox when it booted. It has been this way for say 2 weeks now. My front LED's flash red and green. I flashed my chip with the newest bios you guys put out for all chips. I have a X.B.I.T. chip v1.5. it said in your new bios features thingy that it fixed this problem and bypassed the clock check straight to the dvdrom drive. Well i flashed my chip with your new bios and i booted and nothing happened. So i made a slayer's autoinstaller boot disc. I put it in. turned my box off. turned it on and the regular xbox bios looked like it was booting. It did and then gave me the error 16 message again. I even had the disc in my xbox. I know the disc was burned right because from some rare instance one time yesterday i held the power button down for 5 seconds and the bios actually booted. The slayers cd booted as well. well i was fiddling around with it and i went to check my modchip and bios. That brought me to a screen that said press start to reboot your blackbox. I pressed start and my xbox went to a black screen. Now my xbox boots the error message every time. I cant get it to do the 5 second thing anymore. I have upgraded hd. My modchip has 4 switches on the outside of my xbox so i can change bios'. And I know for a fact that my xbox can boot up the cd-rw cause it did once arleady and it can boot cd-r's as well. So im not sure what to do. Can anyone pppllllllzzzzzz help me!?:(

uh... i have lol. And nothing thus far has helped. that's why i joined here and thought somebody could help. That and cause i read that thing on your new bios info that said it would bypass the clock check. Which it doesnt seem to do cause it doesnt even read the slayers disc it just goes straight to the error screen.

Sounds nothing to do with the bios to me. Perhaps you ran some kind of util from the slayers disc, perhaps config magic ?

You might have overwritten your EEPROM.

I had error 16 problems also, this was due to no dashboard being installed. For example if you have put a brand new empty hard drive in try sticking your original xbox back in if it boots up to the normal M$ Dash then you know its definately a dashboard problem not a hardware problem.

Hope this helps ;)
