? x2.6 chip and x2.3 programmer

I know I have hte x2.6 chip but I think I have the 2.3 programmer (I believe this because it only has 6 rows on the pin header and it doesnt look like the one in the pictures of the 2.6 tutorial). Anyway, I inherited this stuff because a guy screwed it up and flashed the chip with the wrong bios. So, can I use the 2.3 programmer on the 2.6 chip?

Yes programs fine. Just install the chip in the programmer and shift it all the way to the external power connector. There is only 2 postions that it will fit, and only one that it will work. But if you don't connect it right, it won't hurt it at all. Use a usb or external power source and x2bm2.3. That program will detect it if all is connected and powered up.
