Hi there,

so:

just rebuilt the lpc bus with the 4 wires at the bottom. I'm sure about the solders, this the 7th xbox (3rd 1.6) i chipped, even tested every point with a multimeter.

Problem is, whatever I choose (bank 1-2, flash protect on/off), with the chip DISABLED xbox frags red/green after 3 shut and restarts, and there are 3 green leds and one blue lit on the front panel of the 2.6.

When the chip is -E-N-A-B-L-E-D-, just a red led on the left of the front panel lights up, and (incredible) the xbox turns on like everything is usual, no cromwell, no flashbios, no sh*t! and plays whatever disc i throw at it (original, of course...)

Damn, THIS is weird. The net is full of "my xbox frags when chip is on", but nothing when chip is OFF!!!! and anyways, when chip is ON, it actually does NOTHING that resembles the state ON!!!!

What the HE....ck...

Please, do say something that can resolve my sh*tty situation over here...

VERY VERY SORRY for double posting, but, as u guys can see, i was wrong writing down the title of my other thread, mismatching the term ON with OFF, so that it almost looked like the usual problem many others had before.... This thread has the exact same body, but different title.

when there is only one red light on the s/w that means that your x2 is off thats why your not fraging you may have the on/off sticker wrong way round on the s/w. when you have all lights up that means your x2 is ON, fraging could be due to a lot of things like wrong bios on chip, soldering not bing good, have you put the alt 5v wire on .

i agree with dilonuk, the red LED means your chip is off, ive gotten a few X2.6 chips with the LED on/off sticker reversed, you said you checked the soldering, I know it sounds redundant but check again, also you may want to think about picking up the LPC rebuild adapter, it makes the v1.6 rebuild waaaay easier, also does your chip already have a BIOS on it? if not try reprograming using the programmer, but the most common error for system FRAG is a bad solder, check all your points, you may have missed one or one just isnt sitting right, and pick up the rebuild from system-mods.com or another site, dont bother with the wires rebuild. hope this helps

thanks all guys,

to be sure I'm waiting for a friend to come over and try swapping his chip with the other one, so that i quickly check whether chip's faulty or not. In the latter case, well, I promise I'll check the Lpc rebuild tool solution, why shouldn't I use it, was free with the 2.6!!!!

Bah, gotta get back to study....

Thanks again, I'll keep you guys informed, for what it could interest you all....

- SOLVED -

Just tried to change the 2.6 with another 2.6. It worked ---> faulty chip. Already called Divineo.it, say they will substitute it. One thing I don't like about divineo is that in case you need a substitution, you have to pay to send it in, and you'll get money back only in the form of coupon for the next item i'll order from 'em....

And it's official, those f...ing stickers where inverted...

Thanks all for the help!!!

I'm wondering if the blue leds on the chip were on? This because I have the same problem.....

All leds are burning, when turning off chip xbox boots normally, with chip on I have no screen.

If it is a solder problem, I'd double checked them though..... could there be a specific point which I have to check? Because it aint fragging, at least... I have a steady orange light, not the usuals orange/green flashing.

Thanks,
Boy

Did you try the other bank? Are you using the original A/V cables, and are they plugged in?
