x2.6ce frags on a good install...

i'm trying to install a x2.6ce chip on my friends v1.0 box...i obviously did the wire install...the chip frags when enabled...i decided to try my chip (x2.6ce) on his xbox and it works just fine, so the soldering is not the problem...i also tried plugging his chip into my xbox (also a version 1.0), which obvisouly has a good install since my chip works, and it frags once again... does this mean this is a faulty chip...any ideas?!

It's possible. Try booting your chip to flashbios, then swapping his chip in and flashing it.
