Hi,
I installed an X2.6CE chip on a crystal xbox 1.6 (xcalibur gfx/samsung RAM/manufactured in Sep 04) last night which hasn't gone entirely right.
I've used the xecuter LPC rebuild board, and opted for the pin header installation. I'm pretty certain all soldered points are ok. I checked most (not all) with a multimeter.
The problem is that when the chip is turned off the xbox detects something aint right, the power light flashes red/green and shows the service alert (code 12). With the chip turned on it all fires up correctly. With the chip unplugged from the pin header it also boots correctly.
I've done a couple of xboxes before, but not a 1.6 and also I used the 2.3 chips, so I'm not sure if its a duff chip or a v1.6 xbox thing. Does anyone have any suggestions that I could try, or ideas of what it might be?
Cheers,
Barry.
