X2.6CE that wont flash

I've got an x2.6CE here that boots up to flashbios just fine.. And seems to flash just fine... but after rebooting, flashbios ALWAYS comes back up. I've never seen it before, doesn't matter if I flash a 256k bios, a 512k bios, a 1MB bios.. always reboots to flashbios. Swapped the chip out with another and all is well, but I was just wondering if anyone has ever seen this before :)

I've tried 3 or 4 bioses (X2 4981, X2 5035, m8plus...).. Flashing mostly via network flashing in flashbios, tho I tried from disc as well. It goes through both bars (yellow and green) like it normally would.. but it just dosn't seem to take the flash.

Yes, though I've tried 2 as well, no difference.. (Doesn't it always start flashing at bank 1 anyways?)

Yes, HTTP flash is the easiest method. I HTTP flash all my chips with flashbios (That is.. DuoX2s, X2.6CEs, and X3CEs :p)

Bios isn't the problem; I've installed (literally) hundreds of chips with em (X2.6CEs included).

It's definitely a problem with the chip too, since, as I said before, swapping the chip out with another worked fine and all was well. Same thing still happens with that chip in another xbox.
