x2 programmer for x3

Has anyone tried to flash an x3 chip with an x2 programmer? Is it at all possible or are they totally incompatible? I've read a lot but I have not found anyone that has actually tried to do this. Any comments are appreciated.

There isn't a large description but if I'm not mistaken it claims to be a programmer for the x3 chips, among others. Has anyone ever used this (or tried to) to flash an x3? I just bougth the freakin x3 chip but the preflashed bios is useless in a v1.6b box and I have no means of flashing. Does anyone know if this will work? Appreciate the help.

Damnit. Am I cursed with waiting for an x3 programmer release? I don't have an older xbox with an x3 and I don't know anyone that can flash it, and the dealer wont. Can this be, a sweet mod chip no more useful than a potato chip? I guess I'm just venting, I guess I know I lost 60 bucks. I'm at the acceptance stage already, after the surprise and anger stages.

I'd ask them what software to use in order to flash an X3 with the x2.6 programmer....

Noob wanting to know what is best system to get to do backup

I haven't purchased a 360 yet was looking at this one. Wanted to see if there was way to mod this to play backups I get or games borrow from friends. Didn't know how big of hard drive I need or what other equipment. Don't want to open the 360. Was looking for softmod. I have done softmod for Wii. Wanted to see if way to do something like that with 360?

Welcome to the forum.

I wish it were that simple to mod a 360, but you will need to open the case and flash you DVD-ROM with a hacked firmware. Currently all drives can be flashed however the newest versions you need to do some soldering to the PCB.

You will also need a good DVD burner I am using a Samsung SH-S243N/BEBS with Verbatim DVD+R DL discs.

You will also want to get a spare Xbox360 drive and flash it with 0800 firmware to copy your original discs using XBC.

Have a read at the tutorials availabe here for a rough idea of what you would be doing: JungleFlasher
