x2 programmer not working (sync error)

I am attempting to re-flash my xecuter 2.6 using the x2 programmer and x2bm. When I plug it in, the bios manager detects the chip but when I try to flash it or read it, I get an Error: SYNC = 0x0F usually caused by bad parallel cable.

I have it plugged directly into the printer port on my computer. Also, my switch is set to chip enable, flash protect off, bank 1.

Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, I was able to flash it using iXia but was unable to verify. I tested it out and have not had any luck. I don't need to convert my 256k bios image to 512k do I?

I just tried using x2 5035 and it still isnt working. Before, when I booted with bank 1 the system would turn on but boot to a black screen. Bank 2 frags after 3 attempts to turn on.

I flashed the 5035 bios to bank 1 and now it frags as well. I still cant verify after flashing.

My xbox is v1.1 and it still works when the chip is disabled.

Heres what happened, I bought this xecuter2.6 a few months ago and installed it on a v1.6 xbox. The flashbios screen appeared and I attempted to flash it using a cd-rw. The flashing appeared to go well, the screen said it was flashing the mod, then the system turned off like it should. When I tried booting to bank 1, the system booted to a black screen. The system fragged on bank 2.

Instead of buying the programmer at that time, I decided just to buy an x3. I fitted that and flashed it with no problems and have been enjoying it ever since.

Just recently, I fixed an old v1.1 (PSU had bad solder point) and put this old chip in it as well and thats where I'm at now.

I guess it is possible that it is installed incorrectly although I haven't found anything wrong yet. Is it possible that I corrupted the memory banks with the first flash that I did?
