X2 Running for Awhile Then No Vdeo :(

i was running a new x2 on a v 1.6 and then after awhile it just stopped working correctly by showing no video?
sometimes it would to the dreaded 3 start ups and then it would turn on and then show nothing

box works fine without the chip on

Is this a solderless install? Does the Xbox get moved before you start having problems?
