When the BIos mgr comes up, it doesn't find my chip. I have checked my I/O config & it is OK. Any suggestions?

On another note, it seems I have the 2.3 programmer; however, the chip still has power, as the LED is on.

Any more information? What's the error code you get?

Are you aware you need the switch connected and set to enabled/unprotected (so lights are green, red, green)?

I'm having the same problem. All the LED's are on and all the switches are in the correct position. It gives me the error message just as if the chip wasn't connected: Xecuter 2 not detected; Code: 0xFFFF

I have. LPT I/O range is 0378-037F. Port settings are "Use any interrupt assigned to the port" and "Enable legacy Plug and Play detection."

Switched to manual, no change.

Yes I'm using 378 in x2bm. Since I'm using the 2x Lite Programmer do I need a different version of x2bm?

No - the version you have is fine. As long as you're selecting X2 Lite in the chip type, it's all the same. Are you sure you have connected the chip correctly onto the programmer - there are 12 pins compared to 16 holes.

If there's still no progress, is there another PC you can try this on?

Ok, I played with some things and now I'm getting a different error message. Now I'm getting 0x0900.

I am quite certain I have it connected right, as if I change the position the LED's on the switch and the one on the chip do not light up.

I'll go and try on another computer.

Ok, so the 0x0900 is due to having flash protect on. This brings up another problem as my switch is set to disable. What is going on?

I am running into the exact same problem.. I have tried 2 programmers and several loaders. The Chip is not detected. What I did try was X2cable, which is DOS based. What I found there was that I still could not flash the bios, but I could read it and save a copy of it.

Any help with this is appreciated, and just so you know, I haven't bothered putting this in the Xbox because I figured if I can't load the new Bios, then it is not doing me any good, so I have no idea whether the box will boot with the chip in place.
