We are well known for listening to what you want - here's what we are looking to add in the coming release(s)

BFM Support all versions
Multiple .ini setups
Full paths to different dashboards on different drives
Customize .ini locations
Customize D:\default.xbe name
Customize Trigger options (power off / power cycle etc)
Xlogo.x and Flubber.x customizations
XBE Interface for ini control
PC Interface for ini control and bios patching

(THINGS THAT WE WILL NOT BE DOING):

Adding FTP like an X3
Removing the Loading Screen that appears before the flubber (its there or a reason)
Making the bios NOT use the .ini file

It would be good if, once the xbe is released, the BIOS could automatically run the xbe if you hold down a certain button on boot (maybe with some default options?).

Might help if you've broken something and can't get to your dash.

Would be nice for the INI to include the power LED cycle #'s (R/G: 1/2/3/4) instead of just default all :) For us who have done modifications to our LEDs, it helps out nicely :D

Yes, it is an actual sound from the bios, it was done from source.
Thats bios is still 256k too.

I'll get more info on it for you, It was joint work between 2 people and I still don't fully understand it all.

it would be cool to be able to customize the 'x2config live loading' image. probably suggested elsewhere, but I just came on board.

I know it exists to give the hdd time to speed up, but you could put a different image there.

the current image is temporary anyway - but i will look at possibilities of injecting a bmp

Is there any way for the x2 chip to tell which bank is being booted? If so, what do you think about the bios detecting the bank then booding loading different .ini files. Ie config0.ini if banks 0/1 and config1.ini if banks 2/3. Not sure if thats possible and it may make it confusing to some users. But I just figured that I would throw the idea out there.

Is there enay chance of adding a write protect function it the ini to prevent flashing the bios on the lpc,I dont know if it will be possible with just the bios, but it would make a good feature.

Ex. Writeprotect = 1 ,and then it will disallow enay flashing on the lpc,and make the chip write protected?

Making the bios NOT use the .ini file
I'm reading this as "config currently in the ini will not be stored in the bios itself." If that's the case, how about a way to bypass the ini file and use the defaults the bios would use if the ini didn't exist? This could be usefull if someone managed to screw up something in their ini that forced it to fail to parse/process. (alternately, if bios fails to properly process ini use defaults...)

The reason I came up with this suggestion is that I just upgraded from 5028 to 5030 this evening. Since I knew 5028 worked on my box I created a 5028 in bank 1 and 5030 in bank 2 bios. Just in case my box had an issue with 5030 I figured I would have a backup. (sigh... I need an X3...) Before flashing and rebooting to the new bios I updated my ini to the 5030 file. Flashed and booted, received a FRAG. What happened was the 5028 bios was still seleced and it failed to process the ini, I assume choking on the new setups for dash load order. Switched over to the 5030 bank and rebooted, everything was fine. Putting in a check/bypass for ini problems (if space permits) may save some people from having to do a recovery flash.

I guess in my case I would have been able to use a boot disc to load evox and reflash?

no.

thats why our modchips have write protection switches.
