Hi,

Has anyone come across a problem with the X3 whereby it FRAGS when set to anything other than 512k BIOS? It will not boot to 1mb, 2mb or 256k BIOS - but will boot to Backup and 512k. Box still boots to M$ dash ok.

Tried swapping the chip, front panel, power panel and black interface cable (to the front panel) and same thing :?

Chip works fine in another box and the solder points are perfect - they have been redone a few times now by a guy with an HND in electronics!. Typically enough this was his box after he did 4 boxes for other people.

Tried a known working chip in the box and same thing - so now we're just confused. 3 2am mornings trying to get around this now and the box is close to being in the bin tonight.

Could it be something to do with 1.6b??? The manafacture date is 28th Aug 2004 - so close to the cutover date - is there any other way of telling other than the date?

Cheers

A few questions...

Hey guys,
My head is hurting from some questions I'd really appreciate answers for.

1. Firstly, the LT firmware comes with Lite on original firmware. This firmware to my knowledge is missing the calibration data which they say is totally useless data. So basically if you wanted to restore your liteon to it's original firmware, you could take the information you probed, combine it with the liteon orig firmware and flash it on and it would essentially be liteon original fw?

2. If thats the case, whats the point of doing a full dump via MRA?

3. Say I probed my drive. I've got the information (keys, etc..). What happens when a new version of firmware is released (after LT). How do I upgrade? Is there anymore probing required?

4. If I have done MRA and dumped the original firmware, when I have to upgrade to the next firmware, do I restore the original first, then the new hacked firmware?

Help would be appreciated!
