x3 1959 bios?

just installed my x3 ...up and running first try...did the iso thing with the x3 1959 bios bin.....
I think i used BIOS.BIN as the name on my disk..instead of bios.bin

Will this make a difference flashing or should i just re do the disk using small letters??

ps..prob a stupid ? but read a couple of stickys...one said to use "bios.bin"

no i didn't ...read to many posts that people can't flash banks again...or problems with the flash..

just don't want to screw anything up....

How big is the BIOS file??

In any case, the X3 has a 256k 'backup' BIOS which you can boot to.

Why make a 1MB BIOS file? The original is only a 256k BIOS?

Again, you have a 2MB BIOS so the 1MB flash will still be ok to try.

what do you think the FlashBIOS is for? Don't you already see a FlashBIOS screen when you boot the chip?

I would have told you if it was the wrong BIOS. YOU NEED THE X3 1959 BIOS as you have it.

Why don't you just try it out!!!!

new problem...today i turned on my machine...and it boots into the flashbios screen ...not the x3 bios screen....everything worked fine until today...

I'd check what Bank you're booting from - remember you flashed a 1MB BIOS file, so whatever bank you flashed it to, try booting from it.

i found out what was wrong....turned 1 and two on...3,4,5 off..flashed the bios....everything worked.......left everything the way it was.... today..started in the flashbios screen.....re flashed the x3 1959..everything was ok.....

the original flash was on 5,6,7,8banks...i didn't set the flash for this...is this normal???

Also, can i use one of those banks in the future...256k..if i want to put something else on...just flash over it?

If you check the tutorials for the X3, you'll see you have plenty of Bank configs you can use.

iprep loading FW problem

I'm only trying to load firmware in iprep to make a bootable disk to unlock my liteon but it keeps saying NO VALID FIRMWARE after I try ANY FW.

What am I doing wrong?
Missing a driver or something?



Also who makes iprep? maybe I can get help from them?

the file was dated real recent like 3/7/10
I tried iprep10.1 and iprep10.7
wierd thing is my iprep10.7 file I had since last year but my iprep10.1 I had JUST GOTTEN OFF XBINS wierd

if your trying to unlock your lite on try using j/f first hook it up but not powered then open j/f mtkflash tab, press intro wait till it asks if you want to resend press yes then power up the drive

ya i saw that someone JUST wrote a tut on how to do that today!!
I followed it:
1) boot into O/S (windows)
2) hook up 360 to computer
3) turn on 360
4) PC locks up
that means I cant unlock it with J/Fer
