I have avalaunch installed as my first boot device in the live config. the x3 bios loads up at boot up. This didnt use to do this. My nephew (age 5) was playin some games and then I noticed it. The correct banks are selected on the switch and everything.

I went threw as many features as i could but didnt see anything.

Is there a trick to getting this NOT to come up?

Additional question - I realize this isnt the right forum, but you guys might have an answer for me. I wanted to have avalaunch.xbe and xbmc.xbe on my C root and then use the x3 live config to select which one that i want on startup to switch between them. I copied the xbmc.xbe and xml to the C root but when it trys to boot, no good I get an error.

Is there a way I can create like xbmc.xbe and just make it a shortcut to E:\apps\etc\etc?

Thanks in advance, Matt Enderle

In the X3 config live there's a setting that controls booting to dash or to config. I can't remember where it is, but it's in there somewhere. I'd check but I'm at work and my box is at home :(

In the X3 Config Live settings, there is the ability to disable booting into the config Live screens (you'll need to hold the "white" button down once you have disabled this to get in).
Next, decide which dash you want as your primary dash, and set it up as the first availabel dashboard int he boot order.
A quick way to choose between booting the ava or xbmc is to assign the xbmc app to a quick trigger key - then when you bot up, if you are holding in the left trigger you go to XBMX, otherwise you boot to ava.

Options are there in the X3CL menu - explore, have fun :)

go ahead and put your dash's and applications and games in directories in your e: or f: (f: preferably). Like for me my f: has like 8 folders including my different dash's, folder for games, for dvd's, for roms, for pictures, and then for applications.

OK. so even though avalaunch.xbe is in C root, and xbmc.xbe is in E:\apps\xbmc.. x3 bios startup config will find it? I was under the impression that the xbe for it had to be under the C root in order for X3 to boot to it.

Thanks guys

there is an option in configlive which lets you choose which partition to boot from....your .xbe must be in that partition though

Put the xbmc.xbe and XboxMediaCenter.xml files in the root of your C drive on the Xbox. Put the XBMC directory (minus these two files) somewhere else (E:\Apps?) Edit the XbioxMediaCenter.xml file, and change the first uncommented line:

<home>-</home>

to reflect where you put the XBMC directory

<home>E:\Apps\XBMC</home>

When your bios finds xbmc.xbe, it fires it up, which then looks at the XboxMediaCenter.xml file. This points to E:\Apps\XBMC\ and it finds all the files it needs. Bingo!
