I'm very excited to get the new bios and check it out. I love my X3. The only problem I had was with my Switch Bank, one of the leads on the DIP Switch, wasn't touching the board. I re-soldered the lead... and all has been well! Keep up the great work! =^_^=

Are the build numbers like actually just the number of build... or is the new one the equivalent to 2.6.6.6 So like Different classes of release... because 700 different versions each assigned a different number... jeez... I really don't think so...
no usually they just give it a number

if they update a little the number may only change a little e.g 1957 to 1959

if they update a lot then there will be a much bigger change e.g 1959 to 2666

Haha, that sucks. I think we all had the feeling it was out when we read the news update.

every number is means there was a change made to it somewhere in the code.

Anyone know if the new X2 BIOS will be released the same time as the X3?

X3 Format - yes it will erase the password and is a loophole - but most ppl use it to lockout baby brothers and sh*t - they wont know about this back door. it will help a LOT of ppl tho who forget passwords oir corrupt their settings etc
what if someones like sitting on the xbox controller, or happens to be fiddlign with the a b x and y buttons when i turn on my xbox, it would be a piss to loose all my settings... whats wrong with just using x3_erase.xbe?

Have to give them credit, all the guessing going on and nobody came close on the features. Admittedly did my whining, also admitting to being an ass.. when this comes out should be most interesting.

First and foremost, unbelievable job guys. I didn't think the X3 could get much better, but I was totally wrong. I don't understand how there is any competition at all? I like the HTTP client, Avalaunch has something like that doesn't it? FAT filesystems is incredible, the skinning system sounds incredible also. I'm pretty convinced that in a few months, there will be no need for a dashboard because the X3 will do it all on it's own. Great job guys.

when is this going to be available for download? Or was this just a headsup on whats to come? This easily blows away any other dash with the exception of launching games, apps, and music. Also, is the .x stuff going to be eventually integrated or is there something you guys just can't get working?

If you forget your password with the current bios build you have to reflash, run that app, and then go back to X3. This feature makes it a hell of a lot easier.

Awesome release...I gotta an install coming...hopefully gonna script the whole thing.

It does make it easier for the 150 dumbassess out of 100,000 who can't remember a simple password, but it wouldn't be that hard to accidently do it. A setting to disable that would be nice.

Then he culd google... and find the bios file that will erase the password anyways. This just makes it easier... It's not like he couldn't erase it anyways
I already thought of that a while ago when I saw him on xbins looking at the X2 bios so I set up his firewall to block connections to my xboxes IP address so he can't send it over http/ftp, and since he doesn't have a cd burner he can't flash it like that.

maby xecuter could some how make it so that you can make a script to automatically connect to xbins and download the newest version of a dash/app and install it. That way wou wouldn't have to keep any install files on your computer, when ever you need to set up someone's hard drive, you just pop in that script, and it downloads/installs the newest versions of eveything.

Nice features, how about we're all grateful for what we receive and see what happens in the next load of releases.
