x3 3029 problems.

ok so u prob saw my other post in general and well no one replied cuz wrong forum. so i got the 3029 bios and i made a 100mb dummy file and my question before i make an iso and burn it is should i name it bios.bin and dummy.bin or should i capitilize? i cant follow the tuts on this site cuz i have an older version of nero. i dont wanna try both cuz i only got 3 more cd-rws left :|

LOL. Why not use http flash if you have home network or a crossover cable. You won't have any cd's to waste then.

Your other option is to try a program called Qwix, which can be found on xbins. Just create an iso file from that program and burn it with the nero program that you have right now. You do need to rename your X3 bios to bios.bin before burning though

http doesnt work either! it says it flashed good and it doesnt boot when i tap the power button.

if it doesn't work, then you must have done something wrong. If you want, type out the exact steps you used. What bios file you used. What xbox version you have, etc.... anything you think is important and we can get you going.

hmm ill try.

ok first i got the bios file from "the usual places" then i put the actual bios into a folder and put 100mb dummy file in it. i named the bios bios.bin and left the dummy name just dummyfile(was this my problem?) then i made it an iso with qwix, burned at 2x with cdrw, popped it in so i could see Halt! no bios found!. i have a v1.0.

In the network flash i just named the bios(3029) bios.bin, put my ip address in my address bar, flashed it and watch the little green and yellow bars go through, it turned off, i tapped the power button and it turned on for 2 seconds and shut off w/o fragging.

do you need any other info about my xbox?

oh and when i downloaded the file and extracted it with winrar it said that most of the things were corrupt, but only the xbox can understand it so i think thats why.

yeah, if winrar says the files were corrupt, I would redownload.

btw, if you do http flash, you don't need to rename your bios name. You do if you were going to create a cd. Honestly, I have yet to waste one single cd since all my flashing is via http if they are new chips and ftp flash if they already have X3 bios and I want to flash the other 1mb bank

if you got it to run flash and it turned off then i would guess that the bios is on the chip if you try booting the xbox now with all the switches to the left all excpt for the last one and it should have you in 3029 bios os

nope still will not work. i put all swtiches to left and flash to right after i flashed for the 100 time and it booted for 2 secs and shut off immiedietly.u guys think it might be my network? should i try burning a disk? if i do, it should look like this....

well i just tried 2914 and now it works fine. i think it was just 3029 acting up on me.

i'm having exactly the same problem, flashes and works spot on with 2913 but does the same as yours with 3029 seems to flash ok switches off but when i switch on after 1 or 2 secs switches off,weird

clear your X3 eeprom.

hold ABXY when you hit power or flash an older bios (4981 or M8) and run x3_erase.
