Hi. I've got a 1.6 with an X3 fitted. I ftp'd the 3294.bin that I got from the usual place to the Xbox, and flashed it from the X3 Live menu. Everything went ok, the flash was 100% verified. Now, when I reboot, the Xbox attempts to start, stops, tries to start again, stops, then starts FRAG'ing. Every time it does this - 2 no-boots, then into flashing red and green. No display throughout. Booting it with the X3 disabled gives the normal display, up until the usual M$ warning message.

Anyone know what's up?

Gah. I flashed with the 1.6 Bios, not the 1.6plus one. Been a while since I tinkered with my Xbox, so am a but rusty about this kind of stuff. Plus I'd had a few beers and was in a "hey...it'll be fine" kind of mood. Is there a way back from this then?

Try pressing power and eject at the same time after you turn it off to see if you can access the backup bios.. then try reflashing with the correct bios.

Pressing power and eject gives me a blank screen. The X3 LED changes colour to a light blue, but that's it. Guess that means I dont have a backup BIOS then? I've got hold of flashbiosv303.bin, as I'm assuming I have to boot of a CD so I can flash the BIOS with the correct one. Not sure what to do with it though...

Aha. Found another thread which explained that the backup Cromwell BIOS wont work over the HDTV cable. Replaced the orignal 3-plug video cable, and got the FlashBIOS screen. Burnt a cd using the tutorials, complete with dummy file, but couldnt get FlashBIOS to see it. Enabled network flashing, and uploaded the new BIOS via the ip address listed on screen. Worked a charm.

Thanks for your help guys.

On this same topic, has anyone run into this?

Curently have a X3 on a 1.6b, fully installed no problems at first I flashed the new 3.0.3 update from Team Xecuter and proceeded to load the Xecuter Bios (Rox my Box X3 3294 v16plus.bin). I was able to access the chips settings and have full functions good to go. However I applied a password which was to protect my setting. Now when I boot the Xbox The Xbox remains frozen with the Xbox "Xecuter Rox my Box" Logo screen. I still can flash the banks using my back up bios, so I did a complete reload but no change. I was also able to FTP into the chip or the HD before, but can't do that now. Please help

Looked at the other post you suggested but they do not apply from what I can see. Can you point me to the right one? Remember that the physical portion of the mod was fine. I even loaded the bios and still have the capability to do so. It's just that when the chip goes to load the X3 Xecuter bios X3 3294 v16plus.bin it stays stuck on the Logo "Xbox; Xecuter Rox my Box". I've tried to hold down the white button but nothing. Note the xbox does not frag either, it just sits there until I turn it off. Also it was working fine before I applied the password.. unless it was something just wait to happen.. Please help

When you say they don't apply, did you even try it? It seems identical problems to me. If you have to go back to a 18xx or 17xx series or a beta bios do that, but it should work for you.
If youve tried that then let me know.

HEY! I managed to flash to [font=verdana, arial, helvetica]1959 but I can't seem to contact the person who put in the password, is there a way to bypass it?
