I have been very worried about screwing my xbox up the last couple of days but thanks to Martin C and the team xecuter gang, i have successfully chipped and flashed my first xbox WOOOWWW Thanx guys for all ur help.


I do have one question for peeps as i could not see a thread already there
. What do i do now ??? please for give me if there is a thread and perhaps just point me to it !! Im not wether i load the slayers dashboard on now or even how i do that ??? I havesorted out my new 40gb hard drive and formatted it now and gave the main part to the f
and also downloaded some new skins for it. so its just a case of how i load up anything like games etc....

Firstly i suggest you backup C:\ and E:\ to your pc. Also grab your EEPROM.
(All of the above can be done via the X3CL FTP)

Then go on xbins and snag a few apps and dashboards.
Also www.xbins-kai.org has good builds of XBMC.
Some good apps: DVD2XBOX, UnleashX, UIX, Config Magic, BoXplorer.
Maybe some emulators and homebrew games.

You may allready have some of these on the slayers disc but theyre all outdated.
Its alot more educational to find and copy the stuff over yourself.

Your easiest route will be to use a slayers disc now. It will have everything you need to enjoy your new mod to the fullest. Once you get more confident and can ftp then you can try all sorts of time consuming, wife nagging causing things. Slayers will keep you busy for the time being. Congratulations!!!

Cool well cheers guys ill look into both of those ways to setup my xbox.

Is there a link to how to install the slayers disc ?? Its just i put the disc in a dn nothing happens but if i put the disc in on my other chipped xbox its boots it up fine. I checked underhardware info to make sure my dvd drive is there and it says i have a thomson DVD firmware version 1.24
any clues would be cool. !!!

thats a good point Martinc C its written to datasafe CD i believe not DVD my other xbox is a v1.1, and it boots from that cd ok, so maybe it is to do with the type of media i am using, is there any other way of installing it from a network, or ftp or does it have to be of a cd or dvd ??? As i could try and locate the latest version of it somewere. I do haev XBMC expert 2005 which i have loaded onto the xbox but not setup yet. i think i would prefer the slayers dash as it loads a lot on in the first place and i have xsnes as well with all the roms to load aswell.

I would definitely recommend you burn a copy to DVD-R. Thomson DVDs won't touch CD-R .

Setting up a dashboard isn't all that hard - you can do it yourself. I use UnleashX as it's the easiest to configure.

Cool Martin C ill get a blank DVD-R from work and have a go with it, btw i really like the mods u can do to the xbox with the X3 bios and chip love the colour correction u can do to the boot up screen and flubber animation LOL

Ill have a hunt around tonight and try and get a dash board for it. Im glad u said thompson dvd drives wont read cd-r as i was starting to get a bit panicy. that the dvd drive had stopped working.
Anyway im sure that all will be well in the land of Xbox.

My flubber and logo bootup is in the same electric blue, which looks pretty cool

I have an UnleashX boot disk should you want to try it out. Again, burn it to DVD-R if you want to make it bootable:

Extract with WinRAR and burn ISO to DVD-R as per instructions.

Cool thanks very much just located the latest slayers dash and am d/l as i type. But i wouldnt mind checking out the UnleashX dash aswell, but first thing i will do is burn to a blank dvd-r i think the ones i have here are verbatum media so i think it should be cool!!!
