a little mor einfo - like what happened to your liteon? what fw version was it? what method were you using to extract keys? what state is it in now?

spoofing a hitachi in its place is a terrible idea
no recent fw and detectable as hell if you gonna use live

the lite on was a 74850c, i tried to extract the key with a ck3 probe 2.. i tried over and over but nothing was happening, i made sure i connected everytihng right and all seemed ok, the drive was showing in bios on the sata ports, jungleflasher was also showing all ok. The probe was opened new from the box. I gave up using the probe so i used a small flat head screwdriver to connect the two soldered pins next to 707. Magic! i managed to get the key after a few attempts was quite hard because they are so small. Im not sure if i shorted something as i was doing this i think i saw a spark, im not sure if it was or if it was my eyes playing up.

Now the lite on is not showing on sata ports but its showing me the drive in the device and printers, neither is it in jungleflasher, wont eject either for the tray half open method. I placed my finger over the 707 area and there seems to be heat generated in that area, not sure if that's normal.


Back to the hitachi.

Junleflasher now sees it as a lite on and i cant turn to mode b or restore old firmware.

ok managed to get the old stock firmware back, now looks to original state.

I will be unable to use the xbox and is why i still want to go ahead and spoof and flash the hitachi.
Once spoofed do i use the firmware for the lite on or the original hitachi? when i spoofed before hand i just used flash ixtreme. :?: ( i added ixtreme 1.51 to the firmware file )
forgot so say, once it is spoofed do i use the firmware for the drive it is spoofed as or for the original hitachi?
I would like to still spoof this drive to see if im able to do it and not waste more money.
I can then order another lite on 74850c. or maybe just the chipboard for that drive.

technically all you need is another pcb for liteon (if you have dumped the original file from orig liteon)
however it may be easier to find another liteon
just load your orig files as dummy, autoload ix, lo-erase then write

Hitachis are sh*t! - i wouldn't bother

ok thanks, the pcb is the chipboard i take it? i think my problem may be i have been given the wrong 4 number key 4F00, this is not supported by the ixtreme 1.51 firmware. Strange as this has happened to others with the hitachi.

ok i have fixed the lite on!!! it was a bricked drive. Flashed and ready to play.

new problem, i put original game in, says reading then open tray. Makes a slight grinding noise when cd starts spinning which was'nt there before, i don't think that's the problem though.

Made some searches and it could be the wheel seized up, i wanted to lubricate it but dont want to just pull it off in case it breaks. Dont seem to be spinning freely.


Anyone know what the meaning of open tray after placing the game inside?

ok, i have completed the job, the laser was getting caught on the pcb and thats what the problem was of open tray. The cd was spinning for about 2 seconds then stopping.
