X3 and OpenXDK

I set up the OpenXDK to fool around with it and i found out that after i got the samples to compile (.06) that i had no picture on them. I posted in the XS forums and was told that I need the right video address for the X3.

come on, at least one person has to know the answer to this problem.

all this is, is the commingSoon compiled from the Samples_06, no modifications made to it.

I know nothing of openxdk other than what it is

first off since it is legal do you have a link or website to get it, second off: try flashing an xecuter 4981 bios to an empty bank??

i've tried the newest x2 bios, M7, and M8 and none of them work, the coder for it says hes almost certain that it is a video address problem with the x3 chip.

13th October 2004 - Xecuter BIOS problems
There are some known problems executing OpenXDK applications on chips that have the Xecuter BIOS. The problem has been around for quite a while (since 2002), but I cannot find anyone from xecuter that is able to give me any information as to what is actually causing the problem.

it was suppost to show a pictue on screen too, but it rebooted so that means its a video address problem.

this really only appears to be a problem with the X3, according to edwardaux.

ok here are some system specs and results

1.3 box with X3 - 1957
Stock HD
Conexant Decoder
avalaunch
XBMC

Blackscreen - does a full cold re-boot (total reset) and boots back to avalaunch.

1.1 box x2.3 pro 4983 multi
300GB HD
conexant decoder
evox

Some HD activity, black screen and fades back to evox


so is this a xecuter bios problem or what ? - its not just a x3 problem for sure!

well, its an xceuter bios problem but on the x3 it wont work no matter what bios is on there

im having the exact same problem, i've compiled the samples (no prob) and when i run the file on xbox it's doesn't produce any image output, but it reboots when it was mean't too, i have an x3 chip with 1959 and xbox v 1.0 .

its rubbish to say its anything to do with hardware - thats just silly.

its a bios problem - bios's compiled with the ms build tree (xecuter, indbios etc) dont boot openxdk stuff

we spoke to the openxdk guy a while back and apparently someone found the problem and fixed it in the openxdk source.

i know for a fact that openxdk apps work on the x3 hardware cus we've tested stuff with openxdk in the past. however we have not tested latest openxdk with x2 or x3 bios's yet - so no idea if that bug was done with or not.

ok, so that fix you spoke of will be in the next release of openxdk? cause i've tested so many other bios and none of them can run any openxdk prog. Maybe the bew bios coming out would resolve this prob :p , do you happen to know a temporary fix to run openxdk code? thanks

maybe i'm doing something completely wrong but i just tried the M7 bios and the 06 & 05 samples and neither one of them showed a picture :/

So? no one know a fix for now?? geez. im not in tha mood to download xdk , cause i wanna do things "tha right way.." . I hope this openxdk issue will be resolved soon. Thanks xecuter, for this great piece of hardware. 8) i recommend one of these to all my friends, so far eight of them have bought an x3. if you could try an openxdk and tell us something would be nice. if you can of course. Bye
