X3 Bios AND X3CP help please

hi guys,

I got an xecuter 3 and X3CP from baldbouncer

have installed the chip and the control panel is in.

Also got the X3 2913 bios and burned that to dvd.

OK on the CP I have the following lights

enable---1--- 2--- 3--- 4
RED---BLUE-BLUE-BLUE-BLUE

I put the DVD in and started to flash. About 1/3 in it just froze and nothing. Waited about 20 minutes and still nothing. In the end had no other option but to turn it off.

Obviously when I turn it back on it starts to frag.

When I have the switches as follows:

enable---1--- 2--- 3--- 4
RED---OFF- BLUE-BLUE-BLUE

It boots ok to the FlashBIOS screen.

Can anyone tell me what switches I need enabled so I can flash the BIOS as the first time it didn't work and I don't want to mess it up again !

Also is there anyway I can reflash the chip back to how it was when I got it so the flashBIOS comes up when all the banks are on (all lit up blue) instead of it fragging as it does now due to my original screwed up bios flash.

when I power on pressing the eject button and power button and have the lights/switches as follows:

enable---1--- 2--- 3--- 4
RED---BLUE-BLUE-BLUE-BLUE

then it works fine. I presume this is in back-up mode.

I hope this makes sense. Sorry I'm really crap at this stuff.

One last thing. The LCD doesn't seem to be working. I presume you have to enable this once the BIOS has been installed before it works because I am not sure it if works or not.

Any help would be greatly appreciated !!

what version of xbox do you have? First, make sure you have the proper version of bios for your X3.

the enable light should be red (which means it's disabled). You want to flash your x3 bios to banks 1234 or 5678. To flash to banks 1234, buttons 1 & 2 should be blue (or pressed in) and the rest off (or out). Now press both eject/power buttons at the same time and that should bring up flashbios. Now flash your x3 bios and hope it is successful. Good luck

I have a v1.4 xbox. I have bios X3 2913. Have got it on a dvd called bios.bin complete with another file called dummy.bin

make sure to unzip it and and use the one that is not labled v1.6plus. then burn it to a CD-rw. DVDs do not always work.

sounds good. If you burn the disk with nero and it doesn't work. Try download Qwix1.01 from usual place and create iso from that and then burn with nero. Hope this helps

One more problem though. I have a 250gb HD in my XBOX and it used to have a xecuter 2.3b lite in it. i also had a load of games on the HD. Now when I load up my xbox it automatically goes to the X3 Config menu. Is there anyway to get it to boot straight to the evo x menu I had ?

Also my games and emulators as well as the other stuff I have don't seem to be there anymore. Also the G partician of the drive isn't detected either.

How do I get all this back ?

Go into x3cl and customize x3 bios and select disable autostart the x3cl.

Then set the dashboard priority and the drive which you want to boot from.

btw.. to get back to the x3cl screen hold down the white button on startup.

still cannot get the stuff I had on my HD back I used slayers 2.6 to install and dvd movie player has gone, the emus, roms and games are not there. they are still on the HD but the dash doesn't recognise it.

Any ideas guys ?

well it seems to haqve fixed itself ! I just changed the colour of the xbox logo to blue and when evo x loaded up all my stuff was back ?! Dunno what happened but it works and I am more than happy !!! Thanks again to everyone for all there help !!! Cheers guys !

Quick press (on one of my xboxes.. VERY QUICK) of the power button turns the mod ON... The Logo goes blue and all is good.

Hold the power button too long and the mod isn't turned on and the Logo is Red. Then it should boot the M$ dash

he is talking about the X logo after the flubber not the X3 logo on X3 control panel, hehehe.

that is true nartac. I even changed the flubber colour as well for good measure but it works. I really cannot explain it ! one minute nothing on the HD. I changed the colour of the X logo and loaded evo x back up and everything re-appeared ?! Either way all my games are on there and it works, most importantly I don't have to start Star Wars KOTOR 2 again - my save is intact ! *haha*
