ok my X3 was working fine. one day i installed leds in my controller ports and i didn't notice that my modchip some how snagged a wire or something and was off the pinheader when i turned my box on (after i reattached to pinheader) the chip refused to work anymore. the first time it went to the FLASH Bios screen now it just goes to a black screen and the HD light on the pannel stays solid. So I made another X3 Bios dvd it would not flash the bios (i use the back up to get to flash bios) So now im wondering if I have to buy a new chip because the chip is awesome and i cant go with out it ALL HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED!!!

PS. i have a 1.0 xbox and the Chips Bios where 1959.
PSS. THE XBOX WORKS FINE WITH THE CHIP DISABLED

Can you disable the controller LED's?

Are you getting all three lights on your chip? Two blue and a red/green.

My first thought is the controller LED's are jacking with your power for the X3. Let us know.

no just the one led light is on the chip and i also have completel removed the leds and nothing changes

I'm going to guess that when the wire snagged the X3, and pulled it up from the pin header, that you also broke your soldering at the pin header.

Only seeing one led on the chip means that you are not getting all the power you need (3.3V and 5V). Check the pin header soldering at the LPC.

You did say something interesting though - So I made another X3 Bios dvd it would not flash the bios (i use the back up to get to flash bios) ... does that mean that you CAN bring up a flashbios screen which would indicate that the chip is actually working.

yea the chip does go to the flash bios screen when i use the back up but when i just activate the chip the X3 Config live and evox doesn't come up. it just stays at a blank screen and the hdd led on the front pannel stays solid. and when i went to use the disc to flash the bios it said it was "waiting for drive" for like 4 min. then it just ejected the tray so it wont load bios for some reason. i kno the
disc is good because i did it the exact same way i did before using the exact same type on dvd...... ill check my soldering
