X3 bios flash failing?

I recently installed an X3 chip in my v1.0 xbox. It boots to the flashbios screen just fine (shows version 3.0.1). When I flash the bios via http (on my computer it shows version 3.0.0), it goes through everything just fine (bar goes yellow, then green, then xbox powers off). When I power system back up, I get absolutley nothing (just a blank screen and not the x3 rox my box X logo). There are no additional lights blinking/flashing on xbox (just the blue on x3 display and occasional hdd or network blink). I'm attempting to install bios 1959 (regular, not 16plus). I've been messing around with this for about 4 days now. It seems everyone on the board that's had bios issues has just been using the incorrect bios. Also, I'm kind of confused on the switch setting. I have the switches set to: on on off off off. Is this correct? Also, once I flash the bios, do I leave the switches in this setting or move them to a different setting? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

are you testing with the DVD-ROM and the HD connected?

Either way (only one connected, both connected, neither connected), I get the same results - attempting to boot on modchip but no screen output (accept when accessing flashbios). I think this is also why I can't boot a cd-rw/dvd-r (I've got a crappy Thomson drive) (no bios to allow it to boot?). What about the switch settings? I messed around a bit more with this and actually somehow managed to get flashbios 3.0.3 on there (ran when all 4 switches were set to on) and attempted to flash bios again (on on off off) still with no results. I also seemed to have lost the flashbios 3.0.3. What is the setting of the switches after flashing bios - the same (on on off off)?

the position of the switches should be the same as when you flashed it. the last switch turns on /off flashprotect.
if you flash with the switches in position (on on off off), they have to stay that way to run the bios on that memory bank.

so you managed to get into flashbios?
ok, try starting the box pressing eject+power button.
you should then boot the backup bios(Flashbios).
what happens?

That's what it was... I think I may have damaged the solder points at pins 13 and/or 14 since I can run the Evox Bios but still have issues running the X3 Bios. I guess I'll just have to leave it alone for now. I got the Evox dashboard up and running and even installed a new hdd without any issues. (As a side note, when I installed the evox bios using switch settings [on on off off], it will only boot with setting at [on on on on]). What is the real difference with the bios' anyway? Should I be concerned about not being able to install the X3 bios? Are there alternate solder points for pins 13 & 14 that I could connect to?

A big thanks goes out to rasgal
