hey, needmsome expertise please. been doing this for a long while now, and wanted to update my chip from an x2.6 to a X3, so all i did was remove my x2.6 and put in the X3(yes it's turned the right way) hooked up the power/eject assably and the wires and pins are the same as the x2.6 only the x3 is turned the other way. i got the flash bios screen and i know how to make bios discs, so i made a couple just in case of a bad burn! after the flash is shut down, and when i powered up, i get a blank scren with no A/V at all. MS dash boots fine, and if i put back in my x2.6 that works fine. so i put in the x3 again, and again, boot from the backup using the power/eject trick, and flash once again, with a newly made iso bios cd. And guess what? yep! blank and no A/V everytime i try to flash the same sh*&t happens. i have a 1.2-1.5 xbox and used the x3 1949.bin for the right version xbox and my d0 wire is installed from the top, i went to cllege for soldering/computer repair, so i do know that it is not my perfct soldering job, plus my x2.6 works everytime like a charm. i run evox, build 3935, 250gbhd, and my setup is perfect, besides the ten minute swap turned into a all day and night thing! i can't figure this out, so i has to be a X3 problem or you know what to do. thanx and help me please. yes both light s are powered up! and i have a 1.2-1.5 version, also my x2.6 works fine everytime! i have switched them back and forth, nothing with the X3 and all golden with the x2.6. thanx for the response! bboy
do you know that the LPC connector of the X3 is lager than the X2.x?
You have to fix that i guess, NOTE that you have to remove one pin from the one that follows the X3 chip.

i do not have a version 1.6 xbox, so thefore i need not too remove a pin on the header! so what else you got for me, cause it still not workin. thanx for the support. BBOY
try to boot up with the backup of flashbios and flash another bios than the X3 bios that is compatible with your box. you say you have a none 1.6 xbox so use the x2 4983 bios. flash that bios to the X3 chip and try to boot, if you get audio/video with that bios then the reason it is not working is the extra pins on the pinheader. if so check your solderjoints and if that wont help it could be the x3 chip that is bad. good luck
Do you have your external switches connected to your X3?
I assume you would have tried setting the switches to other banks. But if you didn't make sure you try loading up the X3 on with the first switch on and the rest off.

i flashed the x3 with the x2 bios and it works! the only thing that was wrong was the bios and i would like to know what the difference between an X3 and an X2 bois are? thanx guys!
MMmm fact that x2 bios works and X3 doesnt indicates problems with pin header on pins 13 & 14

it states in the X3-X2.6 on a 1.0-1.5 to only have the number 4 & 16 pins be removed for the install. go checck for your self on the home page here at TEAM XECUTER on the right side at the top! also i wanted to know the difference between the 2 bios, like what benefits do i get havein g the X3 bios instead of the X2. thanx again Bboy
Yes correct you do not need 4 & 16 ...but you do need 13 & 14 for an X3 which the 2.6 bios did not use.
Clean and resolder these points.
As far as bios differences there are too many to mention
All setting on X3 bios stored on chip and not on HDD is a good one.

HEY! your thinking of an X2.3, those did not use 13 & 14, but i had the X2.6 which does and shows in the X3-X2.6 V1.0-1.5. the only diffenrence between the lpc mod is the way the modchip itself is turned! otherwise no difference between the X2.6 and X3 mod install! it even says so in the tutorial. X2.3 is the one your thinking of! and my solder skills are 10 out 10. plus i did try a resolder 4 times when i finally just tryed the X2 bios and it worked great. then i tryed the X3 bios and nothing. i even tryed making 3 other isos, http, HDD and anything else i am forgetting as far as a flash method! but now that i think of it, maybe i got a badBios and maybe i should try to download a new and the flash! Config live does not exist on any 2.x bios.
Even though the LPC install for 2.6 needed these pins the bios loaded made no use of them.
That said it is poss you have a bad bios ...just seen another post that was similar to your prob.
hey put 1957 on and i worked....this runs config live and hence proves 13 & 14 r good.
Go get that and if ok then wait for new release due anytime now before moving away from 1957.

Firefox 3.6 keeps freezing and becoming non responsive
I am having Firefox 3.6 and it keeps freezing and becoming non responsive.
I have been forced to go back to IE7 with no problems. I would rather use
Firefox. Why is Firefox freezing and becoming non responsive ?
I have scanned my computer for all bugs and my computer is clean.I have even tried by disabling my add-ons for Firefox,upgrading to Firefox 3.6 Beta (revision 5) [3.6b5] downgrading to Firefox 3.5 and tried deleting my cookies and internet temp files and I have the same problem.
