X3 Bios Flashing problem

Ok, I have an xbox rev 1.6. I just realized that I flashed the regular X3 1959 and not the X3 1959 v1.6

Now when I boot the xbox with the chip on, the xbox keeps turning on and off every few seconds.

Is there a way to re-flash that bank? I am able to load the backup X3 bios but I don't know how to re-flash the other.

Access the back up bios and re-flash the main bios with the proper one the same way as you did the wrong bios. just use the ftp method it is the easiest :lol:

ok ... I got a sammy drive with ixtreme 1.61, burn using verbatim discs, all works fine however recently i burn a couple sony dvd+r DL discs and now my xbox slowly decide to not read any discs. from some of the discs to all of them not reading, i got a open tray in result. and today it decided to give me the one red ring of death, nothing on screen, and sec code of 1021. i hooked it up to JF and tried to see if anything was wrong and it came up with an error "Serial data is bad" also had a dvd key of all zeros? i still have the ofw.bin and the key.bin files...i tried to reflash it and it couldnt process the intro id. prolly because of the dvd key being all zeros? i looked up the secondary code and it said something about the ethernet port being bad??? anyways help would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

serial data bad message come from pressing dvdkey32 button - something you should not be doing on a sammy!
read the jungleflasher tutorial!

Do you have the correct OFW/Key?

I have the original ofw.bin and the key.bin....I just need to correct the all zeros....but it wont intro the device. it just hangs and hangs.like 3 lines of dots before it errors out.

So i got the key back on the drive tested to see if it reads it and it does. however still one red light....did some research at xbox experts site. apparently its my southbridge/ethernet issue. quite common and the hardest to fix...any suggestions (not the oven trick unless you know that it does work) ????

DONT try the oven trick lol.

If your not going to have it 'professionally' reflowed using a reflow station then you can always tri the towel trick or the x-clamp fix.

Does the fabled "xclamp" trick really work? or is it about 50/50? would it resolve this issue? i tried to re-paste the cpu/gpu with artic silver and overheat it, no go. but replacing the clamp lugs would make a difference (xclamp kit)?

The x-clamp fix works most of the time, however it is only a 'temporary' fix and is not really suited to the kind of error you are getting.
However I have repaired consoles in the past that have gave weird sec codes using the x-clamp fix and all were successful.

I would give it a go. But saying that, you would really see some sort of improvement after doing what you did above.

I bought the stuff for the xclamp fix today...but the both cpu gpu arent heating up like they should??? anyways i will try the xclamp fix tonight and post my results ... thanks guys

im beginning to think its impossible to fix the e73 1021 error dispite the rumors.

I fixed it. It was an issue with the southbridge. It was a pretty easy fix. I didnt even get it reflowed. Just xclamped.

i did the xclamp fix but, did not fix the issue...so i got one with the 0000 code and one with the 1021 e73 issue thats flashed and i did the xclamp fix for both and did not fix the issue. do i need to try the southbridge fix on it maybe? im all out of ideas

a proper reflow would be the best bet. stop doing the cheap fixes if you plan on using this system for awhile.
