X3 bios Halts

Hi all,

I bought the xecuter 3 modchip for xbox, fitted it with the solderless adaptor (xapt3r) which was easy but im stuck on the flashing of the bios...
ive done it so many times now and all i get is thats its halted.
I created the bios flash disc and when i put it in the xbox regonises the bios on the disc but then says
UNKNOWN FLASH! HALTING
Any ideas as to what i can do to flash this?

Set your switches to on on off off off and make sure that the flash protect switch on the x3 itself is set to off also.

Ive tried that but nothing. still get:

CD-ROM Label: X3_BIOS
Found BIOS Update: /BIOS.BIN (1024k)
Unknown Flash! Halting

Im on an xbox v 1.1

Any other ideas?

that means that your flash protect switch is on

No the flash protection switch is set to off.

if you follow the instructions and look at the error information you would know exactley what the problem is

i don't know about that xecuter, after searching the forums he doesnt seem to be the only one having that problem. i'm having the same problem and i've never had a problem with my homebrew or x2 box. the switch is set to the left, and banks 1 and 2 are on on the front switch. i get that error. well lets disconnect the front switch. same error. well lets switch the flash protect to the right for kicks. same error. it should be noted that i tried to flash both 1 mb banks already, and sometimes i can ge tthe flash to begin but it always halts at 1/4th of the way. also, when the x3 backup bank boots it reads "read only???" signifying that for some reason, flash protection is still on. as the guy said, his protection is turned off, and i'm sure hes right. any useful help besides "follow instructions" is much appreciated. sounds like a defect to me =-\

i am gettin the same error, accept my x3 has been installed and working for a while now. but i tried to reflash it and i got it to work, but then i got an error when i disable my chip, so i thought reflashing it would work, well seem to not work, now my xbox turns on then off then on then off then back on and shows no picture or sound. what do i do
