X3 bios partial flash solution

I just spent pretty much the better part of 3 hours checking and rechecking my soldier job on this 1.2-1.3 xbox. Upon reading through several topics on this forumn the only solution to this problem anyone would offer was to reseat the mod chip. This however seemed to never work. I've modded probably 12 - 15 xboxs and this is the only one that's given me this trouble.

Problem: Xecuter 3CE Modchip would only half way flash the 3294 bios.
Yellow bar would fill from cd/dvd and http, but green would only fill
half way before freezing.

Diagnosis: After rechecking my soldier points hundreds of times, I decided to look at my modchip. It turns out this particular chip featured a rather miniscule but time consuming manufacturer's error. Two point attached to the chip labelled with the "x" (I'm assuming the memory chip) were soldiered together.

Solution: Upon coating the joints with some flux and gently heating them up, the soldier flowed properly onto it's corresponding joint. Reinserted the modchip into the xbox, and finally it would flash the bios completely.

I just thought I'd post this because of the several other threads that listed this exact same problem.

Hope this helps.

I had the exact same issue. The only way I got my Bios to flash all the way was to leave my Jumper Setting all on the OFF position. Instead of using the ON ON OFF OFF that was suggested for a 1mb Flash.

Yeah, I looked through the forum for a good hour trying to find people with similar problems and read your post. It didn't work for me though. M8 would flash and so would the X2 bios, but when it came to flashing the 1MB 3294, I guess it wouldn't flash to the second part of the chip because of the short? Oh well, all is fine now. The chip works perfectly.
