I am new to modding and I am trying to figure out the differences between al of these different bios'. I have heard that Evox is the best but what is X3 1959 and how is it different than the Evox. I want to flash on 256k. Do they install the same? Also is the flashbios 3.0.0 (cromwell) the bios that comes on the X3 chip. And last what is config live? Sorry about the dumb questions!

config live is basically a program built into the x3's bios (x3.1959) that u can change settings etc.
also with a X3 1959 bios file im pretty sure u have to flash a 1MB bios... but as for the EVOX M8 bios's u can use 256KB ones.
and yes, flashbios v3.0.0 comes with the chip when u first get it... u use this to update to a BIOS file such as X3.1959 etc.
basically to sum it up all you really need on a X3 chip is the newest Xecuter 3 bios which is the "X3.1959" bios! cause this is MADE for the Xecuter 3 chips.

With the x3 1959 bios you said you need to flash a 1mb bios. How so you set the switch settings to a 1mb and will I mess up or lose the bios that is on it?
I have a couple of Noobie questions myself.
1. I have a 3.03 flash bios and everyone is talking about 1958, what is the difference?
2. How do I flash a backup bios? Can I use any Bios and are there any you would recommend?
3. I am currently running the Xtender in my Xbox, will I be able to boot to a mod bios on the original hard drive?

Lite-on froze during erase
I have a problem. I tried to reflash my 83850v1 xbox today with the new LT 1.1 firmware.
When I got to the step to erase, the computer froze. Now nothing works. I cant control the xbox via the Xecuter chipset.
I plugged the dvd drive back into the xbox, but when I start it up I get e64 error.
And when I try to hook back up to the computer to reflash, now it doesnt recognize the drive.
AND I do have the via drivers removed....can anyone tell me what to do? I am assuming that I need to send an outro, but if jungleflasher wont recognize my drive, how can I do that?

nevermind, I assumed because I had removed the VIA drivers to flash to LT previously that they would still be unintalled.
Sure enough, I checked and they were reinstalled somehow.
Just removed them, rebooted, erased the 360 dvd drive, reflashed with LT1.1 (I already had the serial data so I didnt need to pull that first). Put it in the xbox and it runs perfect.
