x3 bios unlocker not working

So I have an X3 chip and upon install and using the latest bios it wont boot. So I do some searching and of course I find the infamous issue that seems to be going on where the chip has a password on x3 config live. So someone says to download EvoxM8 bios, flash it, boot to x3_erase and its supposed to remove the password.

Heres what I have. I have a spare unlocked stock hard drive with unleashx installed. I have a preconfigured evox M8 bios set to find unleashx.xbe (my xbox is a smartxx v3 so thats what I use already). I used EVTool to resize the 256k bios to 1024k and flashed it. The chip responded great, I was able to boot to unleashx on the hard drive. I FTPed into the drive, copied x3_erase to the drive, used the unleashx file system menu to launch it. It launched, rebooted the xbox, and now upon looking in there, there are 2 new bin files so Im assuming the app supposedly did its thing.

Problem is, the damn password is still on the x3 config live menu. Help. Im pretty disgruntled at team xecuter right now. I cant believe this issue has a documented workaround. I cant believe the problem even exists. How come these chips are coming with passwords on them? Mine looked brand new, shouldnt have a password on it. Im thinking about just using the evox m8 bios and screwing x3 live confg, as all my configuration info is in the bios already cause its the same bios Im using on my personal xbox (Im doing this one solderless with the xapter 1.6 and the x3 chip because I was told this was the way to go for solderless 1.6/1.6b boxes)

Oh yeah, and for the ones who dont think I searched enough, I even tried the what I found to be "default" password of x3 which of course didnt work.

Someone help please?

it not the chip that has the password its the x3 3294 bios
was no need to resize bios as you can have a 256 / 512 / 1mb / 2mb bios
and you can use as many bios as your chip can holed
my setup
x3 3294 banks 1234 1mb boots XBMC
x3 3294 qwuick launch boots evox dash
x2 5035 banks 56 512k boots avalanuch
evox m8 bank 7 256k boots unleashx
flashbios3.0.3 256k bank 8

were did you download your x3 bios if not xbins thats the problem
download from xbins
if you got download somewere other then xbins you may have a buggy x3 bios
redo removel of
x3 bios flash over it then use x3_erase then reflash with x3 bios from xbins

I downloaded it from xbins. using 3294 it doesnt boot to x3cl using 1892 beta it boots but it wants a password.

Again, booting into unleashx and launching the erase utility doesnt seem to actually do anything but put some 1meg bin files on my cdrive.

What should the x3_erase application look like once I launch it? Is just rebooting typical? I launch the app, it says its loading, and bam, xbox reboots, and upon investigation there are 2 new files in the same directory I launched it from.

The xbox DID reboot. However, the password is still on the damn chip in x3 config live.

The 2 files that were created were some bin files. One said "unlock or erase something. bin" and the other one just had some numbered name. Both were 1 meg files.

Point is, the unlock utility I launched from unleashx didnt work. What do I do if this thing doesnt work.

I gotta say, Im pretty disgruntled with Team Xecuter right now for even releasing a) a chip that comes WITH A PASSWORD, and b) a bios that isnt compatible with the password and then c) creating a complex workaround involving the competitors bios file to fix their own stuff.

If Im misguided in my being upset, someone please educate me.

Surely SOMEBODY has to know how to get around this.

Ive modified over 10 xboxes, Ive used X3 chips about 4 times now, and never had this problem. I know how to flash bioses, solder, download apps from the correct places, edit config files, everything associated to a good mod. Anyone?

Team Xecuter do not ship X3s with passwords set. What your supplier did with it is anyone's guess. They may have shipped you a return by mistake.

I wouldn't waste any more time on this - contact them directly and explain the situation.

Dude, again, Im trying to be patient.

I have done what they have said to. I asked some questions pertaining to it. I was told to run the x3_erase app, Thats what searching points to.

Again, to reiterate. I dont know the password. Its a brand new chip, it shouldnt have one on there, and I have done what was in the forums to remove it and it didnt work.

I have contacted divineo about it as that is where I bought it.

Hopefully they will replace it as I shouldnt have to jump through hoops like on an initial install.

?
did the chip come with x3 bios allready on it
or
did you flash the x3 bios onto the chip yourself

if you flash the x3 bios to the chip then your to blame
as the bios has the password not the chip

if you did not get bios from #xbins
then you are to blame as you most likey downloaded a bad x3 bios

if you did get x3 from #xbins then you yourself or someone else must have placed the pasword on it

are you 100% its a x3 bios password and not a dash or app password like XBMC has

Its not a password on the BIOS, how much do you know about this chip really?

X3 Live Config is built into the chip. The password is there regardless of WHAT X3 bios I use, whether its the new bios or the old one, theres a password. That tells me it is NOT in the bios of the chip, that it IS on the x3 live config and thats not controllable by the bios.

I DID download the bios from xbins, and IM not a noob to this, ive modded over 10 xboxes, and Ive even used the x3 chip before with NO problems.

This one has been problematic OUT OF THE BOX. You guys really arent reading my problems very well.

You need to stop assuming Im some stupid noobie that doesnt know anything, and trust me that Ive done a bit of research.

Take your own advice, and search X3 Live Config Password and see what comes up. Now come back and read what Ive done to try and fix this and you will see that I have done everything but a few things that I asked questions about that were not answered.

X3 Live Config is built into the chip
this is why you are haveing all this trouble you dont know a thing about the x3 it dose not come with the x3config installed on the chip that is the bios x3 3294 if it had x3config then why will it not boot into it before you flash it with the x3 bios

I used EVTool to resize the 256k bios to 1024k and flashed it
it a x3 you dont need to make the bios bigger

i think you need to follow what we are trying to tell you one step at a time
if the x3 has a password then it can be fix myself and others have done so many post on this and i would say 100% fix the prolbem
can anyone else help or give feedback on this

Im not following here.

I cant get into the 3294 config period. I searched on it and I fould the thing about the 3294 password bug. I was told to flash it to an older bios. Well guess what? The 18xx bios I installed had the password on it too. I got both passwords from xbins.

So knowing this, just isolating this from the equation, Please, TELL ME what Im doing wrong, or what is going on here.

Password on 2 different bioses from the same place. That isnt likely man. I dont understand.

the bug is that 3294 bios will not let you use the password option but the earlyer build did if you know password but you don,t so this will not work
you will need to flash the chip with a x2 bios 5035 then with a cd-rw or as a app use x3 eeprom erace
i use the x3 erace thats on the auto installer deluxe installer 3.10 thats in the tool option of dvd-r
then when you have removed the password reflash the chip with a fresh download of x3 bios boot into x3config and set x3 bios back to default
report back when you have done this

Just as an addition:

You can also get the X3 erase program from the X3 1959 release of the BIOS...

Also, I want to clarify something.

The password is stored on the X3 EEPROM. Therefore, if someone has set a password and then reflashed the chip with FlashBIOS, the password will still be there. The only way to remove it is to either disable via X3CL or to run the X3 erase utility. Luni, it's not impossible you were sent a chip with a password, especially if it's a tested return. It shouldn't happen, but it does nonetheless.

I am having exact same problem ... and have been struggling too.
The only difference is I havent been able to get into X3CL (with 3294) cuz it just hangs after flubber at ROX screen.
When I flash the chip with X2 bios (i tried v4976), it just restarts 3 times and then frags.

So just tried 5035... i am in there now i need to figure out next step. Seems like I am in dash similar to MS dash...

I have no experience with X2CL... where do i go from here?

What gives?
X2 4976 is far too old to even try this out.

If you have a 1.0-1.5 Xbox you can get away with using X2 4981 or the newest X2 5035

1.6 onwards need X3 5035 v16plus.

I have a 1.6, so youre saying to do this:

"you will need to flash the chip with a x2 bios 5035 then with a cd-rw or as a app use x3 eeprom erace i use the x3 erace thats on the auto installer deluxe installer 3.10 thats in the tool option of dvd-r then when you have removed the password reflash the chip with a fresh download of x3 bios boot into x3config and set x3 bios back to default report back when you have done this"

Discrepancy in text though. You say x3 5035 and he says X2 5035. What series bios should I use? Im assuming x2 but I want to be sure before I do this.
