I've done several installs, this is my first 1.6, and I did things in the wrong order and that may have messed me up. Heres what I did:
Install x3 bios from flashbios via http
boot into x3 bios, ftp to it from pc, copy the drives, set x3 config to boot from dash
unlock the old hd
put in the new hd
Then I can't boot X3. I figured it's cuz I set X3 live to to boot to dash, and there's nothing on the hd, no dash, no nothing. I boot to flashbios by holding eject with power, but remember I can't ftp my data till I "format" it from x3 live. Holding down "B" during boot doesn't goto x3 bios, it still goes to MS bios which gives service error 9. I tried locking and unlocking the drive from flashbios, it changes which format of error message ms bios gives, but still no x3 bios (or no exectuer rox my box either).
So I put back in the old hd, x3 bios is back, I use B button, go into it and turn it back to boot x3 bios instead of dash. reboot, yep it works, great.
Put back in the new HD. Same problem, can't get into X3! Flashbios works fine, tried reuploading the bios via http, doesn't change anything.
Help!
