I've had the modchip in my xbox v1.0 for a few months now. It has been anything but smooth sailing, I had problems with the chip booting to the msdash, the only fix was to take the chip off the lpc and put it back on, and then it would work. I've had to keep my xbox open in order to deal with this, no big deal. I had previously gone over all my solder connections and nothing was off. Now i can't get it to boot to the avalucnh screen, the hd/netwok led stays red. No amount of jossling with the chip will work, is this a software issue, or a chip issue. I'd really appreciate any help with this, as I'd finally like to put the lid back on and keep it on.

When you say "I had previously gone over all my solder connections and nothing was off. " Do you mean, you looked at them? Or did you actually resolder them. If you just looked at them, it sounds like a cold solder joint somewhere. I would resolder each connection if you haven't tried yet.

I resoldered it when i said i redid it. But I'll check the D0 point, last time I checked it was on there pretty tight.

just because it's "tight" doesn't mean the connection is good. by the way you should NEVER pull on a wire or solder connection to see if it's firmly attached

if you can boot to ms dash, but frags when you try with chip enabled, your d0 is fine
in that case --> the problem lies in your lpc connections (and/or rebuild)
