ive checked my soldering over and over again everything is alright but when i start it up it doesn't load up cromwell bios or flash bios 301. what do i do i'm new at this......please help me
x3 ce xbox v1.6 help please

I have the same problem, I have X3 CE my XBox is a v1.6 I have checked soldering, both blue led's come on, on the chip. I have the X3 Control Pannel and pressing protect button changes the light on the chip, and HD light flases. But pressing both power and eject does nothing. holding button down or quick press of button results in instant boot with red X symbol to say disabled, I odnt understand what to do next but am scared that the chip is no useless can any one help me. Please !

If still a red x then check the D0 point again..it's D0 that enables/disables the chip.
Also make sure u have removed pin 6 on the header.
Control of the x3 is stuffed if the permanent 5v is still connected, thats why u have the alt 5v wire for a 1.6.
Thanks for the help and the quick response. There was a problem with D0 and I belive it is now fixed, when i tap the button the xbox runs and shuts down twice before fraging and if i hold it down the original bios boots fine but still pressing the two buttons does nothing i have changed back to the standard dip switches and set to as you suggest both ways tapping does nothing, pressing both does nothing. also all off does not boot have tried a few combinations now, is it possilbe there is no bios loaded ? could some one please confirm pressing both buttons at the same time quickly should boot backup bios and flashbios or similar should be loaded on the chip. could i have removed it having never booted up ? if it is missing can i put it back on or install X3 bios direct ? thanks for any help people can offer.

ok if you have a v1.6b the backup will not work has flashbios 3.0.1 that will not work on v1.6b xbox you should set switch to off on off off off if you have v1.6b xbox
if its still faging recheck your install
there are three lots of flashbios on chip
flashbios 3.0.1 on backup bank (works on v1.0 to v1.6 xboxs)
flashbios 3.0.1 on switch setting on on off off off
flashbios 3.0.3 on switch setting off on off off off (works on v1.0 to v1.5 and v1.6b)
if its still faging recheck your install

flashbios 3.0.3 on switch setting off on off off off (works on v1.0 to v1.5 and v1.6b)

Checked and Re-checked the install all joints were fine so took LPC rebuild off and realsied I had missed the conneciton that is direclty inline with the pin it connects to, now it works great thank you for your help and explaining where each bios was hadnt seen that in the tutorials. Thanks again for all the help its a great community here, a pleaseure to join it.
