Ok, so read #17:) I flashed with x3 3108.bin and now I'm rolln' Make sure you're switches are set properly. Do you have the control panel, or just the little black one that comes with the chip? I read somewhere that the settings might be different. I think they are the same for the 1st 1MB bank but different for the 2nd. I could be totally wrong on this one b/c I just use the 1st 1MB bank and everything works, so I'm not messing with the other ones.

Also, I read some more fourms about the hang when trying to set x3 live config ftp ip. What you need to do is find the skins setting. I forget where it is. Anyway, you can choose the default skin. Even though you might never have changed it, change it back to default. The text will shrink a lil and then you can assign whatever ip you want. Don't worry, they know about this bug.

I read #17 but i thought it was maybe half a solution because of the problems of DHCP etc.. and the fact I don't know those things at all !

Concerning the control panel, I've just bought the chip, with it there was also a little plastic stuff where the bank switches are. i've stuck it outside the xbox.

Concerning the end of your msg I don't understand much. I suppose I'll be able to change the skin when my current problem is over...

Anyway thanks for the solution !

Well, you don't get to have fun with the x3's ip hijacking unitll you get it flashed correctly:)

Do you see the flash bios 3.0.x screen when you turn on the xbox? Its blue and you have about 4 options like, flash via http, lock and unlock hdd... ?

I have the contol panel, so I see a blue light when the x3 boots properly and a red light when something is wrong. I think you can look at the chip itself to see these colors. Do you get a blue light when you boot?

Just as a note, when I get the red / incorrect boot, I unplug the network cable. It seems to help. I have no proof that it actually does help, but give it a try.

Same problem as original post

Put an X-Ecuter 3 CE w/1.6 LPC rebuild PCB
on a xbox v1.0 and flashed
- Cromwell bios off off off off off
- X3_1463 bios off on off off off
then tried using SlaYers EvoX Auto-Installer v2.6FINAL

I guess I shouldn't have flashed that X3 1463
thing from the FlashX3.rar... but booting off
of that X3 1463 bios slot Slayer EvoX autoinstaller
boots up fine and runs/installs. But when I reboot
without the disc in the dvdrom red letters on a black
background say "NO Excuter3 Chip Detected" after the
RoxMyBox logo appears

What do I need to do to fix this thing?

Me = very n00b

try on on off off off, (you need a 1mb bank)
hold down both the eject and power buttons to get to the flash bios
Plug in the network cable and flash with X3 3029.bin via http.

Then my advice would be to enable dhcp on in the x3 live config. Then just upload all the dashboards you want via ftp. Just put them all on the c drive and adjust x3 live config boot order to pick the dash you want.

The latest BIOS is 3108- I'd always advise using the latest one as it'll have less problems!

No wonder it wont work....

Just so you guys are aware:
I had the same problem as the orriginal post as well. The solution was to re-flash using an older BIOS version (X3_3108) instead of the latest BIOS version (X3_3294). I'll let someone who knows the system better try and explain why that might be.

I think it's caused if the X3 EEPROM is misconfigured.

When the X3 BIOS starts to load, it tries to read the EEPROM information on the X3. If for any reason it can't, the error appears as mentioned.

You found a solution whereby a previous version sorts this. I think erasing the X3 EEPROM should also do the trick.
