v1.0 Xbox
Xecuter3 chip fully installed; both LED's on chip turn on
All pin voltages check out
HD activity LED on remote control works
"X" logo does not light up & Xbox boots to MS Dashboard

Where does the logo get its power? D0 has continuity, so I know that's not it . . . Is it possible I have a faulty chip??

Please help. :(

I think I may have a chip problem. When I hard-grounded D0 direct to the chassis, the chip booted properly. If this "hard ground" is not in place, the system boots to normal Xbox dash. Also, when the ground is connected, I can boot to the backup BIOS by pushing power & eject simultaneously. With the DO ground removed, power/eject boots normally.

Is the D0-to-ground connection supposed to be made electronically by the chip? I think that's my problem . . .

Both chip LEDs light up. I also checked all pin voltages with a multimeter. Everything was either 0, 3.3, or 5.0 as shown in other tuts. The only abnormality was pin 1 LCLK which was 1.5V instead of 0.2V.

I have since put the system completely back together with the D0-ground connection attached. I can boot the X3 BIOS (power) and the X3 backup BIOS (power/eject), but I can't boot to regular dashboard (hold power). D0-ground bond prevents that from happening. It will boot the the regular MS dash if I select that option in Config Live.

Other weird thing is that the X logo on the control panel is always blue. I suspect my red LED may be burned out. Power/eject works, but logo is blue instead of sine purple. Logo goes off when I boot to MS dash (should be red).

Thanks for the suggestions.

#1 - Absolutely positive gray wire is on D0
#2 - I understand the chip is always on. The reason I think the red led is burned out is that logo still shows blue when I boot to the backup BIOS (should be purple, or red-blue mix)
